Southwest Mitchell Street

We are a group of queer humans working together to support creative expression, land tending, and familial care towards one another. These three pillars are the foundation of our community. We are currently seeking other queer individuals in alignment with these ideals to join our community.

Currently there is one room available, a corner room with East and North-facing windows looking out on our forested backyard. Rent is $670/mo, plus shared utilities. The home has 4 rooms, 3 toilets, and one shower. The daytime lighting is bright and natural, and our nighttime lighting is more ambient colorful LEDs. We have washer/dryer & dishwasher, a craft room, a dancing pole in the living room, parking spaces, and plenty of storage. Currently there are 2 indoor cats in the home and generally do not wish to add more animals, though non-dogs may be considered on a case by case basis.

As we live on an acre of land in the forest, we are looking for humans who are passionate about getting their hands dirty to help grow food, amend the soil, and tend the land to encourage its native habitat. In addition, we hope to attract folks that enjoy cooking, social engagement, are sex-positive, willing to lean into leadership roles, practice nonviolent communication, and have a mindfulness around substance usage.

We hold regular heart circles, game nights, dinners, social gatherings/performances, and land/community meetings in order to connect with each other, communicate our ideas, and maintain our pillars of care and support. If you have the flexibility to prioritize these gatherings out of a genuine desire to connect and grow with the group___then you would be a good fit!

Additional info: The community consists of three houses on two properties across the street from one another in SW Portland (Hillsdale). When fully occupied, there will be seven community members. We are asking for an initial commitment of 3 months, followed by a check-in, and hopefully at least a year-long commitment assuming we all wish to move forward.
