About the room

Hello! This listing is for 1 or 2 people to rent the whole 2nd floor of my Vancouver home, which includes 2 bedrooms with closets, and a private bathroom. $1350 rent includes 2 upstairs bedrooms, walk-in closet, private bathroom, parking for 2 cars, and use of the furnished common areas including the kitchen, living and dining rooms, laundry and covered porches. I remodeled the house seven years ago, and everything is still in great shape, including the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, paint etc. The house has central air conditioning and heating, off street parking, and the kitchen is stocked with cookware and dining ware you are welcome to use. It’s 2 blocks to a bus stop, near to I-205 and plenty of grocery stores, restaurants and businesses. 15 minute drive to Portland Airport, Clark College, and Washington State University. All utilities and internet are included in the rent, and the $450 (per person) deposit is refundable. Lease is month to month but ideally looking for someone who intends to stay at least 6 months. Longer lease term is optional. Strictly no pets or animals (We have allergies), and no indoor smoking or vaping. Outdoor smoking is fine. Because the house is shared with other single working professionals, it isn’t the best fit for people with children.

About the roomies

I am an occasional live-in homeowner, 42 years old and a self employed contractor/carpenter, often traveling seasonally for work or fun. I only live in the house when a room is empty and I am in town for an extended period. I will be vacating my room in early March. Currently you would be sharing the house with two males, 35 and 42. We all are usually leading busy independent lives but, are also very friendly and we catch up in the common areas to chat and share an occasional dinner or conversations. You would be welcome to be as private or social as you want to be. The ideal person would be: A grad student(s) or working professional(s), somewhere between 25-55, give or take.
Please be interested and engaged in what you are doing, together and functional, and a good communicator. If you are a person who drinks, you do so responsibly. You are quiet and considerate, especially if people are sleeping, you take the time to clean up your messes as they are made, and do your part in cleaning the common areas. The most common disputes with previous roommates has been cleanliness in shared bathrooms and the kitchen.
