Erin's room

I am looking to rent out a room in my furnished home. The room is about 11x11 with two windows and a small closet and is not currently furnished.

The house is small, just under 1000 square feet. There are three bedrooms. I have set the house up so that my office is between the bedrooms and we don’t share a bedroom wall. There is a covered back porch and small yard. There is a one car garage which I am mostly using for storage right now; the washer and dryer are in also in the garage. There is street parking, but it’s a residential street and there is never a shortage of spots. It does not get through-traffic. Daydreamer Coffee is right around the corner, and downtown SJ is walkable.

There is only one bathroom, and it is, unfortunately, a tad on the small side.

The house is close to George Park and Roosevelt High School. The road terminates behind the high school, so there really isn’t any through traffic. The bus picks up at several nearby stops on Fessenden. It’s super accessible to 5.

I have a bunch of stuff in the room right now to migrate to storage and then I’ll get more photos up ASAP. Happy to provide a reference from my last roommate. The house isn’t large enough for more than one additional adult.

I work from home 1-2 days/week which does include a few meetings. In the evenings I generally ride my bike, read, or watch tv. I’m pretty low-key, happy to despair over world events and happy to be companionably quiet. I have been described as being “quite tidy.”

The house is largely open-plan. I am having a kitchen island made to provide some more countertop and storage space.

The neighborhood is generally quiet and friendly.

I have an indoor-only cat and he sleeps with me. If you don’t want him to hang out you’ll need to keep your door closed. He has made it quite clear that he will not accept another animal in the house. I try to keep him off the countertops but I have completely lost the battle over the table. He’s not interested in your food - he’s interested in the window view. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have a long-distance partner in Seattle who will come down 1-2x a month. She is genuinely the kindest and gentlest person you will ever meet.

420-friendly but would prefer that not mean (much, if any) smoke and any smoking needs to happen outside. I do not drink but am fine with others doing so.

The room is $900 per month which includes: water and sewer; trash, compost, and recycling pickup; and internet. I would like to split the utilities and natural gas (heating and oven/stove) bill 60/30 you.

I am happy to go month-to-month.
