Hey potential roomie :)

I’m moving to another state by April and leaving two lovely female roommates and our NW Portland house. We’re looking ideally for another female roomie around our age to replace me, working full-time professional or grad student with a 9-5 (ish) schedule.

THE HOUSE: Two floors, one shared bathroom, free laundry on the 1st floor, bedrooms on the second floor. We have two living rooms, a shared outdoor backyard and deck for hangouts in the summer. Coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, bus stops, and bars on and around our block. The MAX Blue/Red line train is a 10min walk. Despite being between two commercial streets 21st and 23rd, our street is quiet and we maintain a good relationship with our neighbors and landlord (who lives two houses down and very available to fix anything that comes up). Utilities and wifi are covered in the rent as well so it’s just a flat payment of $950 per month. We don’t have basement space, but we have a lot of additional storage space in the attic that you can use. Lease is month-to-month and rent is paid on the 20th of each month, but I’ll be moving out at the end of March so the room will be available for move in between April 1st to 20th and I can prorate the rent for that time.

THE ROOM: My room is 13x12ft and faces our backyard. Large built in closet and shelving. I’m selling my furniture pictured – a queen bed ($160), standing desk ($45), portable AC unit ($140), and chair ($25) if you’re also interested in that. (We have mini splits on the first floor but we each have our own AC units in our rooms on the 2nd floor.)

EXPECTATION: We’re looking for someone who is clean, independent, quiet, and respectful of other’s spaces. While we enjoy occasionally socializing with close friends, if you’re the type to host large, late-night parties, this is not the place for you. Happy to discuss a pet if you have one. Our landlord allows dogs but unfortunately no cats.

ABOUT US:

M - 30, Works in healthcare, very outdoorsy and likes mountain biking, skiing and running! Has sweet two-year old doggo. Has lived here for 2 years and will be moving in with her partner around mid-April as well, so you may or may not overlap.

Q - 24, Works in education, also outdoorsy, likes reading and taking road trips, vegetarian

T- 29, I’m a designer and the one you’d be replacing! Also a vegetarian (not a requirement to join the house haha, but respect for animals is appreciated)
