About the room
Hello! We are looking for a third roommate to join our sweet three bedroom apartment home. This is for one unfurnished room in a legal mother-in-law apartment (sub-basement style). Cross streets are 30th Ave NE and NE 87th St.
Fantastic location: just a few blocks from the route 65 bus which goes directly to UW, a few blocks away from the main street in Wedgwood which has cafes, restaurants, etc and about eight blocks from the Burke Gilman. This neighborhood is very quiet with lots of huge trees!
Move-in and lease duration:
- Room is available June 1st!
- You would sign a lease with T and me for one year, through May 31, 2027.
The cash money:
- Rent: $720 per month (includes water/sewer/gas) plus your third of the electric bill and Internet – budget $20-$40/month.
- One-time refundable security deposit: $400
- Landlord situation: They are excellent – very responsive, fair, and generous.
The space:
- Room is medium sized, 13.5’ x 10.5’ and will be unfurnished.
- There is ample street parking in our block for you if you need it. Free and unzoned!
- There is a lot of space in the garage for bikes, other storage, etc.
- There is a dishwasher, a laundry room with a sink and washer and dryer, and some extra storage closets.
- We have a small backyard with a fire pit and some open garden beds!
I highly value good roommate dynamics and I am looking for someone who is interested in positively contributing to a welcoming and safe home. I prioritize making this a place where everyone feels comfortable expressing concerns and everyone genuinely wants to work toward making this a peaceful home for all. I’m looking for the same in my new roommate! I’m looking for someone who…
- Enjoys getting to know their roommates, and recognizes when someone is tired/in a hurry/needs alone time
- Wants to share common pantry staples and would enjoy an occasional roommate/house dinner
- Takes pride in keeping a clean house
You’ll need to complete a rental application for the landlords and I’ll send the details about what will be required via email. We love animals but landlords say no cats or dogs.
Interested? Send us an email telling us about yourself, your usual daily and weekly schedule, and why you think you’d make a good fit here. Thanks for reading through to the end!
About the roomies
I have lived here for about 5 years. I’m in my late 30s, I work part-time (three days a week) for UW, two days from home. The other days I am active outside (backcountry skiing, gravel and road biking, etc), volunteering, reading, gazing lovingly at my houseplants, having friends over for dinner, etc.
Tobi is early 30s, works full-time for UW, and also into outdoorsy activities including biking and bikepacking and now exploring Seattle!
