Mellissa's room

This bright and spacious place has such a wonderful, relaxing ambience. So rest & ease your mind in your own room, fully equipped with an office desk if you need it. This four bed house (that you’ll share with me and one or two others) has a homey feel with bright colours & cozy furniture. I had three spare rooms I wasn’t using, so I decided to rent it out :) It has fenced-in yard for your pet(s) & the grill is available for your use, too. It’s close to lovely neighbourhoods like Dekalb, St. Charles & Geneva.

You have access to every part of the house except my room and possibly some of the basement (but you’ll still have access to the laundry room, gym and living room down there. My house is in a safe, quiet and quaint neighbourhood just 15-20mins drive from NIU (and downtown Dekalb with lots of restaurants, grocery stores and entertainment), and only a 5min drive from downtown Sycamore which has bars, cafes, restaurants and a cinema.

There is now one bedroom to choose from—it’s the smaller one upstairs and it equipped with office equipment. It shares a bathroom with the room adjacent to it. It is $700 including all bills. (Security deposit and first month’s rent needed).

You are welcome to lounge in the fenced-in yard. The deck and deck chairs are ready to use, as well as the grill. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is wifi, and you are welcome to use anything in the shared spaces. Additionally, there is a tv in the living room that has Hulu, Netflix, hbo and prime.

Note: I travel a lot, so sometimes I may share the space with you, and other times I won’t be around and you’ll have the entire house to yourself! But I’ll always be a message away to help if needs be! :)

Hi! I was born and raised in London, but decided to move to the US to further my education. I’m now a professor at Judson university and Elgin Community College where I teach research design, English composition and Literacy. I love having visitors over and hosting people, so I decided to do it in a more formal way! Another person will be living here but in the basement. He is an electrician and a happy go-lucky younger guy. He’s very friendly and makes excellent banana bread! Haha.
