East Susquehanna Avenue

A really lovely 100+ year old house in East Kensington, two blocks from the EL at York-Dauphin. Our house has lots of plants, art, books and reading nooks, and in the summer our backyard patio is lush, with lots of herbs and greens to eat, and flowers to enjoy. We have a guest room for whoever needs it, and two couches in the 2nd floor living room. There are 2.5 bathrooms, no bathtub (but we do have a stock tank tub outside during the summer). 420 friendly. We have one male tuxedo kitty, and our ball python is leaving with her human - we are open to one more pet (preferably dog, or cat, or snake!) which would require a $250 pet deposit.

First, last and security to move in; 6 month subleases. Utilities range from $75-150. The room will be available April 1: $650 on the second floor, with two small closets and a north facing window.

There are 5 of us in total (with two rooms available in February). We are artists and musicians, all in our 30s (we’re looking for housemates also in their 30s, possibly late 20s or early 40s). We’re also into cooking, gardening, hosting friends and maintaining a clean home. We are currently 2 POC, 2 non-binary, and 2 males. We value: community, cleanliness, communication, honesty, accountability, sustainability, mutual aid, Black Lives Matter, Free Palestine. We are all creative, passionate, driven, and love to learn and share new skills and information. We enjoy the occasional potluck, music jam sessions, and movie nights. We hold bi-monthly house meetings, sometimes with house dinner. We utilize a chores task board for personal accountability and transparency. When someone is sick we communicate so that others can avoid us if they want to, we take Covid tests, and mask up if in the kitchen. We are seeking a housemate who is looking to be an active part of our community and household.
