Sublet Master Room in Adam’s Point Penthouse

VERY Central location in Adam’s Point, near multiple grocery stores, within walking distance from 19th BART (15 minutes), and the Saturday Farmer’s Market, Grand Lake Theater, Downtown Oakland, Piedmont Ave, Lake Merritt (two blocks from Fairyland). Easy to get to SF by bus on Grand Ave.

Looking for (a) creative roommate(s) to occupy the master bedroom for six months starting 1/15/24, but could be flexible on the move-in day. The room is 14’ x 15’ or 200 sqft (trapezoid) and has a personal bathroom, and a walk-in closet. The apartment comes with two garage parking spots, washer and dryer, private deck that is used for gardening and hosting, a large open living room, an elevator that leads directly to the private deck, and full kitchen. $1580 for singles with one designated parking space, $1800 for couples and both parking spaces. PG&E is about $35-50, wifi is about $54 per month split between four people right now. The deposit is $1580. The room gets lots of light during the day.

Our current housemate is moving to France. Some of their furniture is for sale. The rest of us are moving during the summer (which is why it’s only approximately for six months). The rent will rise after L (the master tenant) moves out, so you might be able to negotiate with the landlord on staying on and getting roommates.

No cats- we’re all HIGHLY allergic.

Dogs are okay as long as they are friendly, trained, and are your responsibility. Dogs have to be approved but have to be approved by the landlord and might cost more.

No smoking indoors. Smoking is okay on the deck as long as the upstairs windows are closed.

C (she/her): Kind, exquisite taste in music, keeps to herself, works in tech, occupies the only room upstairs. Her room has the washer and dryer in it. We have a schedule on days and times we do laundry to respect her space.

D (they/them) (me): I work with adults with disabilities for a nonprofit. I love to read and write, like to play board games and soccer, fairly active person.

L (she/her): mixed media artist, likes to cook, and watch K-Dramas while working on art projects, and will sometimes do photo shoots upstairs.

We all work at least part-time from home. We don’t have a TV upstairs in the shared living space, we like to keep it fluid for art projects and hosting. However, we do have a pull down screen and projector to watch movies from time to time, or to play video games.

We are all in our early 30’s, and leftist. We don’t expect to hang out with each other, but do enjoy drinking wine over dinner and music.

Ideally you are someone or a couple who prefer to live with other people, is mature, respectful, kind, clean, and is invested in taking care of the space they occupy. What this means exactly is that we’re looking for a person or couple who cleans up after themself(ves) by the end of the day, keeps things organized, and is willing to help maintain household upkeep like vacuuming, mopping, dusting once a month. (We ALL want our deposits back).
