Emily's room

Hey y’all! I have a large, bright room for rent starting May 1 in my 3 bedroom, 1 bath house in convenient, quiet Oakley. Rent is $900 per month including all utilities (high speed internet, shared flatscreen tv with chromecast, water, electricity, and monthly pest control). Interior features central heating and air, laundry, dishwasher, and large smart tv. 3rd bedroom has been converted into a closet/costume studio. Exterior features plenty of off-street parking, a full walk-in basement workshop, fenced backyard, covered side patio, large front yard with greenhouse and garden space. Room for rent is approximately 10’ x 12’ with double closet and two large windows. Can be provided furnished or unfurnished. Willing to negotiate rent for anyone who would like to help with house projects, do a monthly deep clean, and/or dog-sit occasionally. I have two dogs who are delightful but mischievous, so it’s probably best if you really love dogs. Additional pets can be discussed, but unfortunately no cats due to allergies in my family. No tobacco products including vaping on any part of the property by residents or guests. No heavy drinking or drug use.

I’m the homeowner, a 36-year-old sober queer woman and her two idiot rescue dogs. I’m responsible, mature, and direct. I can be a bit cluttered, but I work to keep common areas to an agreed upon standard. I am also currently pregnant due in August as a surrogate for my sister, so the baby will not be living at the house. I’m a bit of an introvert, so I’m happy to keep to myself around the house but also open to being more friendly! I work a flexible schedule, as I’m primarily a performer and costumer with various side hustles. I sing often in the house and am learning piano, which you’re more than welcome to also use (a reliable if a little ragged baby grand!). I also refinish and upholster furniture, so projects are often in various states of completion around the exterior/in the basement.
