ISO roommate for 3rd room! $600* per month (There IS a security deposit but I have to ask the landlord about it.) ~Need to have you on the lease for March 2024~

Water is included. Gas & electric are separate. Internet is separate. Expect to pay about $850 total each month. We are on the 3rd floor, please keep this in mind if you have disabilities! Lease is renewed every year. Our landlord is a nice dude.

Features:

-Located in Little Poland in New Britain. ~10 minute drive to CCSU. Bus stops are right nearby! Can get pretty much anywhere in New Britain or Hartford by the bus :) Grocery stores, laundromats, etc all close by! -We do not currently own a car so the one parking space will be yours. Additional parking on the street. -Two generally quiet and introverted roommates -One bathroom, full tub/shower, door on toilet room for more privacy -Washer in bathroom (no dryer hookup available here, but laundromats nearby if needed!) -Small dishwasher -Roomy kitchen/dining area -Walk-in pantry -New gas stove (was replaced about a year ago) -Living room is currently being used as storage for now but is being cleaned. We don’t have a couch or TV as we have our own monitors in our bedrooms. -Pretty calm area, only occasional noise/music from downstairs neighbors. Safe to walk at night, well lit street. -All tile/wood floor/linoleum, no carpeting. (But feel free to get a rug for your room)

-Bedroom dimensions: 14.5’ x 12.5’ -Small closet in room: 5’ x 3.5’ -Linoleum floor -3 windows -Currently painted red & black but can be repainted as you’d like with the landlord’s permission. -Currently being used as storage by previous roommates, will be cleared out and thoroughly cleaned in February 2024.

Requirements:

-be lgbtqia+ friendly. We are a queer household, no bigotry welcome. -be comfortable living with disabled folks / no ableism. -no heavy drugs, no heavy drinking, no partying (having company over is cool though) -no cigarette smoking. We have severe allergies. -420, on the porch only, is OK. But vaping is strongly preferred! -must clean up after yourself, be responsible for your own & your guests’ dishes, etc. -Roomie’s partner has a severe seafood allergy. Just need open communication so there isn’t any seafood in the house when they are visiting (usually one day a week). -we do not share groceries, but we do share a fridge. Typically we each have a shelf to make things easier, and just respectfully leave room in the freezer for others! -no children please -one person is preferred because of the shared bathroom, but couples are welcome as well.

-No ACs in the shared areas because we simply cannot afford to keep the whole place cooled. -Need to provide your own AC for your bedroom. -Some pets may be ok, needs to be discussed. We have one low-dander very sweet cat & one really chill leopard gecko.

At this time we do not have photos of the place, as it is being deep-cleaned, primarily by myself. This is a slower process than I’d like because of my disabilities, but I will add photos as I go as soon as I can! Previous roommates were messy and we are working to get our apartment to a much cozier, neat, and happy living space. This will be upkept by all of us, by not leaving messes in the shared areas. As long as you aren’t leaving food or dangerous things (like anything that could harm my cat) out in your room, your space is your business! :)

*This is based on our current lease, we don’t know yet if our landlord is going to increase it, but so far he’s only ever increased it by increments of $100 each year. Hopefully this amount will not change on the new lease though!

We’re siblings in our late 20s (but any age welcome). We’re queer, nerdy, gamers, and while we’re not terribly social, we will mesh with similar people so bonus if that sounds like you!
