Shelby's room

A decent sized room (12’ x 11’ 10“) on a dead end street in land park. Walking distance to the park, Sac City College, light rail stop, Chocolate Fish, Marie’s Donuts, Oscar’s, Taylor’s Market. Latest move -in is March 1, but it can be earlier if needed. Unfortunately we have maxed out the pet population for the rental, so we can’t accommodate any more :( We have wonderful chill neighbors and a fantastic landlord. The room has a double closet. Window faces the border wall of the light rail line. The room gets lots of natural light, especially in the morning. The room is month to month, but we’d prefer a 6 month stay or longer (it’s not fun looking for roomies y’all) The room is unfurnished but we have some extra furniture you can use if you need it- table, futon, etc. Shared bathroom with one roommate who will be gone a majority of the time. The house is newer, well insulated with a garage for some storage, a front yard and a private back yard. Dishwasher, washer and dryer. We have a TV with a Roku in the living room and most of the common cooking tools.

We are two chill folks in our mid 30s who are longtime friends. We are both left-leaning and nonreligious. Shelby works from home for a mental health care company and has two senior dogs and one cat. She is a vegetarian who likes riding bikes, hanging in the hammock in the backyard while listening to audiobooks, doing crosswords and playing board games, paddleboarding, camping, pampering her fur children, events around town, and live music and comedy. Expect her in sweat pants 99.9% of the time. Justin will be spending the year traveling and living in different cities, but will be keeping an office in the house for occasional stays. He works from home for the state and may be present more often in the future. (This is the roomie you’d be occasionally sharing a bathroom with, when he’s in town). He likes the outdoors, camping, climbing, cycling, skiing, paddle boarding, playing banjo and guitar, running, live music. We hang/cook together currently, but it’s ok if you keep to yourself! Dijon and The Grouch are senior pups who like to lounge most of the day, but enjoy their twice daily walks around the neighborhood. They do bark at passers by and delivery folks, but are pretty chill a majority of the time. Both love snuggles and pets. Void is a young frisky cat who is outside most of the day and comes in at night to demand snacks. He will occasionally bless you with his attention. All animals hang on living room furniture and the dogs sleep in Shelby’s room at night. We human roomies both keep early hours (start work at 7) and are usually practicing quiet time by 10 pm. We both try to keep common areas tidy, but understand that we all have down/tired days where we may need to leave the dishes in the sink, etc! We have a Roomba to keep the pet hair under control. We will likely make a chore chart/rotation to keep us all accountable and spread out the domestic labor load. We like to keep open communication and avoid conflict/passive aggressiveness. Friendly and respectful guests are welcome, we just would like a heads up! Neither of us smoke weed. It’s ok if you do, just please do it outside. We drink beer occasionally. We usually keep the house at 68 in the winter and 75 in the summer. While we are chill, we have zero tolerance for late/missing rent- we want a reliable roomie!
