Bottom floor two bedroom, one bath apartment. Located near Marshall University’s campus. Complex is near enough to downtown Huntington to walk or take public transit. Street and off street parking available. Apartment is close to the complex’s parking lot. Washer/dryer combo in unit along with a dishwasher. Most of the apartment is furnished except for the available room. Apartment has vinyl and tile floors. Outdoor seating area to smoke. Lease is until June 2024 afterwards, month to month. Total rent is $800 so $400 for each person. Electric usually runs $35-$70 per person. Water is usually $12-$16 per person. Sewer and internet is not included so that is split. Internet is currently $25 total. Two medium-large dogs that are friendly and well behaved are on the premise.

I work a lot and tend to work unpredictable hours. Often working into the evenings and occasionally overnight and weekends. If I do work overnight or the weekends, I arrange for my dog’s care. They are usually well behaved besides their occasional trash escapades. There is a lock on the trash can to prevent this but it occasionally happens. I keep the apartment pretty clean despite having dogs. I don’t leave dishes in the sink for more than 24hrs, sweep regularly after the dogs and clean the apartment weekly.

I am looking for a clean and quiet roommate to split rent and utilities with until at least June 2024. I am trying to save for a house which is why I am trying to cut costs and work as much as possible. My current roommate is supposed to move out by 12/1/23.

My ideal roommate is someone who is clean and quiet. I’m cool with guests as long as I am given a heads up if someone is staying over. I am not okay with moving extra people or allowing guests to stay over indefinitely. Also, I am not okay with smoking inside, including vapes, which is why I am looking for a new roommate.

My dogs are people friendly but are pretty selective towards other dogs which is why I did not put the listing as dog friendly. For the most part, they are okay with cats after they get used to them. I am okay with cats on the condition that the litter box is cleaned either daily or every couple of days. If there are animals, please keep them on flea and tick preventative that works well. I’ve had roommates in the past that have attempted home and holistic remedies that did not work.
