About the room

Private room furnished as is pictured. (Pictures were taken in February 2024.) So the microwave, computer, minifridge, dresser, etc. are all included.

Central AC and heating to your ideal temperature.

The nearest bathroom would shared by young female student in case it matters to you who you’d be sharing the bathroom with.

The sound isolation is excellent and none of the room’s walls are adjacent to another bedroom. The padded carpeting also helps.

The Wheaton Metro stop (red line) is a 12-minute walk away. The Wheaton Mall is a 7 minute walk. Union Station, in downtown DC, is a 22-minute metro ride. CUA is half that distance. NIH/Water Reed are 11-minute drives or 15-minute bus rides via RideOn 34.

No, you absolutely, positively, don’t have any time to watch any TV. Nevertheless, you’re human, so the 43“ TV in the room gets about 33 local channels, HBO, Max, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and is castable (allowing you to push, for instance, a YouTube video from your phone or laptop to the 50“ TV in case you are allergic to HDMI cables).

A few perks of living here:

o veto system gives you total control about who moves in down the road (you won’t get stuck with a housemate you never approved of)

o easy to leave (you won’t get locked into a lease forcing you to stress out in case you want to move for any reason, and your existing housemates will all be happy campers too since they would be in the same boat. Ok they aren’t camping or boating but you get the idea.)

o neighborhood with a crime rate that is 14% that of DC’s

o use of office equipment like copiers, printers, and scanners.

o all chores being taken care of. o all common areas being cleaned regularly. o all dishes being sterilized and put back so that the kitchen is always usable. o unlimited coffee and tea using filtered water (DI, Britta, and DCC-RWF). o delivery of groceries, but there are 4 grocery stores very close by. o newspaper. o use of backyard grill and deck. o use of home gym. o carpet providing above-average sound proofing. o use of 4K home theater surround sound also with several premium subscriptions. o use of washer and drier. o household supplies such as TP, paper towels, laundry detergents, stain removers, Tupperware, zip locks, etc. o potential use of guest room for those you’re friends that aren’t those kinds of friends.

If you are an extrovert you’re welcome to join us in game nights, sports, etc.

The room is available now for viewing but we are happy to wait as well and aren’t in any rush. Feel free to ask for dates way in the future; if you are voted in it would be for your ideal move in date and the rent would be pro-rated to that move in date.

Including everything (security deposit, fee, utilities, and rent), the total cost to move in is between $930 and $1,350 depending upon the day of the month you move. Provided you give at least two-weeks’ notice you’d get $750 back on your last day assuming the carpet has no stains.

All inquires will be responded to by the next 5:30 pm. If you don’t get a reply, please try a different modality. Two are offered here.

About the roomies

House is coed. The person you’d be sharing the bathroom with is a young female student.
