Mapleton Avenue

Looking for a 3rd roommate to help make this house a home. Hello, my name is Franco. On December 1st I will be moving to Boulder. (I currently live in Louisville, CO.) I’ll be moving there with my current roommate, Martina from Germany. The house we’re moving to is on Mapleton avenue, near 9th street.

At the moment the house is unfurnished, and all of my belongings/furnishings are in a storage unit in upstate New York. But at the end of the month I will be flying out there, renting a U-Haul, loading it all up and driving back here. Yeah, it’s going to be an adventure.

Living in Boulder has been a dream of mine for a few years and I’m excited to finally make it happen.

About the place: If you know Boulder, then Mapleton avenue needs no introduction. Walking distance to Pearl street and Mount Sanitas. The best location you can ask for. The house itself is pretty old. And it’s got a very strange layout: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens on 2.5 floors. Maybe 1,500 sq ft. It’s like Salvador Dali designed it. We haven’t decided who gets what bedroom yet. So that part is still negotiable.

As far as what kind of household we want, we are still figuring that part out as well. Definitely not a party house. I generally go out when I want to be social. Home is my refuge. But it would be great if we could all be friends and do activities together sometimes. The house is big enough that we can all lead fairly independent lives as well.

The terms: -$1000 a month. Includes utilities. -$500 deposit. -Month to month. -Street parking. -Unfurnished. -Washer and dryer in the house.

A bit about me: My family is from Puerto Rico. But I was raised in the Midwest. Laid back, creative, rebellious type. Outdoorsy, adventurous, a bit introverted, intellectually curious. Masters in business management, bachelors in audio and electrical engineering. Before that, 6 years in the Navy. I work as an electrical engineer in Longmont. Lifelong musician here, and supportive of self expression in all its forms.

A bit about Martina: She’s from Germany. She’s got her doctorate in electrical engineering and she works at NIST as a researcher. Very athletic and outdoorsy. Really sweet, loves to ride bicycles. Quiet, clean and courteous. Kind of the perfect roommate.

A bit about you: I enjoy the company of fellow creatives. If we share some common interests that would be wonderful. But not necessary. As long as you are semi-quiet, clean, and courteous, we’ll probably get along.
