The room: This room is not furnished (the images have staged furniture so you will need to bring your own). This room is 81 square feet (9.5 x 8.5, excluding the closet).

The bathroom: The bathroom is the largest in the house with a large shower/tub combo. This will be shared with our other roommates (a couple that lives in the room next to this one).

Location: We are located near Camelback (specifically Highland) and 19th Ave in Casa Fiesta Townhomes. The metro light rail is a ten minute walk away, Melrose night life is under a five minute drive away, and easy access to the I-17.

The home: The space is two stories, almost 1700 square feet. Downstairs is a large kitchen/dining area, laundry room, half bathroom and living room, and a small outdoor patio. Upstairs is the master suite, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Between the master suite and other rooms is a large air duct column and the two bathrooms, to allow for added privacy between us and our roommates.

Security: We are an Alexa smart and secure home with Ring cameras inside (only downstairs) and outside the house, along with door sensors and alarm monitoring service to help keep us and our belongings safe. You will have access to all the cameras, our Ring account, etc. as a full member of our household. The bedroom is not upgraded with smart tech but can be easily if you want to join the smart home fun.

We (the homeowners) are a happy gay male married couple, both bilingual (English and Spanish) who mostly speak Spanish in the home. We are aged 40, and 23, both proud members of the queer community.

The couple in the other bedroom are also a gay male couple, one of whom is deaf, and understands written Spanish and written English along with LSM/ASL. We are a polyglot household but all understand English.

We are both very social and enjoy having friends over for low-key and quite social gatherings on a regular basis (such as dinners, movie nights, games, etc.). We entertain for many holidays such as Halloween, Dia de Los Muertos, Christmas, etc. We hope to find someone who has a similar “more the merrier” attitude, but is also balanced in the sense of not wanting to have major raging drunken parties.

On that note, three of us are very light social drinkes, so we do keep some alcohol in the home. One us has been sober for 11 years. We are cannabis friendly, as long as that is consumed on the patio or front porch. Under no circumstances do we allow any other form of illicit substances in the home.

We hope to find someone who is comfortable creating a mature process for having crucial conversations, setting and respecting boundaries, to allow for an enjoyable and comfortable living experience for all.

Current roommates will be invited to be involved in the process of choosing our next roommate in hopes to foster a conducive living environment for all. We want everyone to feel at home, and we are open to updating our home to accommodate everyone’s needs, within reason.
