Unfurnished room available now! Conveniently located in downtown Silver Spring within walking distance to Silver Spring station, CVS, and Giant and just a mile from Montgomery College and DC. The space is 10x11 with a large window and closet, painted a cute dark green and mint that residents are welcome to repaint. Room has plenty of space I was able to fit 2 dressers, a desk, a mini fridge, and a full size bed with room to spare.

Lease: The lease is month-to-month which allows for great flexibility. Short-term renters will be considered, but to provide the most stability we’d love a longer term renter. Utilities are split between the management company and the tenants, coming out to $15-$60/person. There is no security deposit. The only additional fee is a one-time $25 application fee.

Community: There are several great amenities at Summit Hills including a beautiful gym directly across from out building. There’s a laundry room in the building with machines operated by a reloadable card or app. My favorite feature is the giant pool that’s open all summer. There is also a playground, tennis courts, a small dog park, and more parking than you’ll see anywhere in DC with free spaces for both residents and visitors. None of the current residents have cars and function perfectly well without them, but for those with cars parking will never be a problem.

You’ll be living with a group of 3 Black women in their 20s and 30s, one of whom has her own bathroom so you’d be sharing with 2. We all have our own schedules and various jobs, and while we don’t often formally hang out, we occasionally hang in smaller groups and often talk in passing. Plans for chores, cleaning, etc. are usually discussed any time a new tenant joins the group and we freely communicate regarding any needs for respecting shared spaces. We are all COVID-compliant (vaccinated, follow CDC guidelines) and welcome guests as long as we inform the other roommates beforehand.
