Hey, I’m Evan (he/him). I’m a sex educator who is 40 years old and lives in Vancouver, WA. I focus on sex and disability, and most of my helpers come from Portland. I’m very easy-going and have an awesome sense of humor! I am also a digital crisis supervisor and work from home. I love good coffee and chilling with my cat Romeo and my service dog Winston.

I am currently struggling with the stress of living alone in case of an emergency. So, I am looking for a roommate to do 5 overnight shifts per week (these are 10 p.m.–8 a.m.) in exchange for free rent. Im looking to have the move in date of November 1st.

I have cerebral palsy, which for me means I use a wheelchair to get around, and because I’m non-verbal, I spell out what I want to say on a letter board. Don’t let the disability aspect intimidate you. I’m a lot of fun and very chill.

The overnight shift is just repositioning me in bed three times a night and being here if there is an emergency, which is very rare. Also, I would like my roommate to be emergency backup if something happens and none of my other aides can come in. I have an awesome staff and it is very rare that no one can come cover. I will exhaust all options before coming to you for coverage. I am very conscious of burnout. Also, sometimes I just need someone for a couple hours between shifts. Again, this is all pretty uncommon, but having this safety net would be a huge stress reliever. The house has three bedrooms; one room is my office. There is one bathroom, a garage, a big kitchen and living room area, and a nice backyard with a deck. I have aides here 24/7 so there are already people coming in and out of the house. Although most of the time I do my own thing, I would be more than happy to do things like eat together and do other casual home activities. We are all very COVID-conscious, and I would prefer a roommate who does not have company all the time. You can love my pets but I would prefer you not to have your own.
