It’s a downstairs unit in a duplex. Hardwood floors except for the bedrooms. Nice kitchen with all new appliances. the bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house offering more privacy. lots of windows. mostly quiet street. Nice front porch and a Huge backyard fenced in on 3 sides. Space for gardening. There is washer/dryer in basement and decent amount of storage space down there. Your room has an enormous walk-in closet and lots of windows. The house is newly renovated so it looks modern and nice. Room can come furnished or not. There is street parking. There is a nice greenspace across the street with a huge mulberry tree and no houses across the street. It is walking distance to Gordon Square and a really safe neighborhood. The upstairs neighbors smoke weed and have a yappy dog. But I don’ think you hear the dog all that much in the back of the house where your room is.

Hi! I am a professional woman in her early 40’s (most of my friends are in their 30’s). But I am youthful for my age. I work in a 9-5 in a nonprofit. I am in the office three days a week and from home two days a week. I am pretty quiet and keep to myself. I keep the house clean and the dishes done. I do most of my socializing out of the home and keep a pretty low-key household. I like nature, dancing, yoga, kids and dogs. I am an herbalist and naturalist who gets very excited about birds and plants. I have a really special group of friends who I adore. I have a beloved dog, Swayze, who is really well-behaved, always in training, and mostly chill. (He barks sometimes.) He stays in my room when I am not around, so I am always supervising him. He means the world to me and can be a little sensitive about a few things so I want to live with someone who is willing to do some introductory work connecting with him and who will respect my style of dog-parenting and follow the training protocols when they are around. I am great at communication, straightforward, confident, and clear. I am looking for a responsible professional or student who is tidy, quiet, and keeps to themselves. And whose social life happens mostly outside the home. There is no TV in the common spaces, and I plan to keep it that way. I need someone who has experience sharing a home in a low-drama and respectful way and who has the skills to communicate their wants and needs as well as hear feedback, boundaries, and requests. I’d like to start with a month-to-month sublet agreement. I am negotiable on the rent for the right person and would offer rebates/money back to someone who does extra house cleaning and is willing to walk the dog when I have to be away long.
I don’t really drink, party, or do any drugs. I am looking for someone who doesn’t overdo it either and no smoking and no cannabis use. I am looking for a roommate because I am really trying to save up a lot of money so I can buy a house in the next year.
