Northwest 17th Street

The property is 4 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, with a full kitchen and living room. Additionally, the garage was renovated by the owner to create an extra room that is used as a game room. This means the garage is too shallow for vehicle parking, but it works for storage space (there is an attic as well) and we’ve set it up with home gym equipment. The driveway fits 3 vehicles side-by-side, has room for guests to park, and is in a neighborhood with ample street parking. The backyard is sizeable, and has been maintained.

The home is very well-furnished in all the living areas. We have the standard array of utilities installed, including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, Freezer/Fridge, Electric Range, Oven, etc., and we own a number of auxiliary appliances such as air fryer, blender, and so-on. The living room has a comfy sofa with a hide-away bed, a coffee table, a dining table, an entertainment setup, and media shelves.

The location is great, especially for OSU students, as we are situated in very short walking distance of the WinCo, and there are 3 bus stops nearby, 2 are extremely close, that are along the 1/5/7 bus routes which all go to the OSU campus, making it very convenient to use the free public transit, even for someone with a vehicle (we save quite a bit on gas expenses).

CATS & DOGS DISCLAIMER: We have had a cat living here that belongs to the person who is moving out. That cat had to receive permission to be allowed, and that roommate had to pay an additional fee per month, so while I am putting that they are acceptable because I don’t want to exclude people for that reason outright, it will need to be a conversation with the roomies and the leasing company.

There are 3 roommates sharing this property. Our prior 4th is moving out after graduating OSU. All of us were well-acquainted prior to moving in, so we have a pretty solid dynamic, but we’re all very welcoming. Two are full-time OSU students (Education and Graphic Design majors), and one works full-time night shifts nearby. There’s pretty much always someone home, but there’s plenty of room for personal space, so it’s the best of both worlds depending how social you are. We like to do lots of things as a house, and think it’s important that housemates don’t feel like strangers sharing the same roof. We’re all into various types of geek culture, we often play games together, and our home regularly (1-2 times a week) plays host to board-game or D&D nights, but we never really have a “large” number of people over unless it is planned and cleared with the rest of the house. We’ve hosted “parties”, but they are always pretty low-key, like, less than 10 guests. We are not against imbibing of alcohol or legal recreational substances, most of us do one or both on occasion (responsibly), but smoke/vapor substances go against the lease, so those are prohibited. We do not abide the provision or use of drugs and alcohol to minors. For this reason, while we will make circumstantial exceptions, we prefer applicants above the age of 21.

In short, we are looking for a roommate with clean habits and, ideally, shared interests, who is responsible and trustworthy. Beyond that, we are a welcoming and accepting lot. We don’t just want to be able to pay the bills while sharing a roof, we’d like to make a new friend to share this sliver of time in our lives with.
