One bedroom available in a four-bedroom condo unit in beautiful Haʻikū, Kāneʻohe! Wake up to majestic views of the Koʻolau mountains from our spacious unit situated in a lush mauka landscape of rainbow eucalyptus and cannonball trees, only a few minutes’ drive from Windward Mall, Safeway, Windward Community College, and the recently opened Kāneʻohe Target.

The available bedroom is located on the ground/lower level of a two-story split-level condo. Furnished with a full-size bed, small bookshelf, television, rug, and entertainment table, the space is ready for you to move in and add finishing touches. The unit’s current roommates have provided these bedroom items.

Common areas are shared with three (3) roommates (34M & 32M, couple, with a bedroom on the upper-level loft of the unit; and 24F, also on the lower unit). Common areas include a kitchen with ample appliances, furnished living room, storage area, and ‘bonus room’ (guest bedroom). The bathroom for the available bedroom is shared with 24F roommate and is also the primary guest bathroom. Washer/dryer in unit; street parking amply available. No air conditioning.

We are looking for a roommate who is respectful of others’ space and possessions; is both queer- and dog-friendly (friendly, 8-year-old Weimaraner in unit); and is comfortable occasionally socializing with roommates. Common meals are not uncommon, but no pressure. Ultimately, we care about respect, cleanliness, care, and kindness. Have kōkua!

Rent is $1020 + utilities (electric, internet), which usually come out to around $100/month; with a lease term ending July 15, 2024. Common items (e.g., dish soap, trash bags) are purchased communally and charged accordingly via Venmo.

All applicants will be screened by current roommates for fit before making a decision to proceed with an application. From there, chosen applicant’s application must be reviewed and approved by the property management company overseeing the property, subject to the approval of the current roommates of the unit. A minimum credit score of 700 without a cosigner and a $25 application fee are required per property management.

About the roomies

Three (3) roommates - 34M and 32M, a couple, residing on the upper loft level of the unit; and 24F, also on the lower level of the unit in another private room adjoining the available bedroom. We have a range of jobs - manager of a chocolate factory, massage therapist, and folks arts coordinator - and enjoy having dinner with one another, playing a good board game, and occasionally having friends over to socialize over dinner and good wine.

As roommates, we believe in respecting each others’ space and common space. Since 34M and 32M live in a loft with an open wall to the common area, the common space is noise-free from 10pm onward. This couple has also furnished and decked out the unit, so we just ask for kōkua and cleanliness when it comes to the space.

Strike that - there is a fourth roommate: an eight-year old Weimaraner who loves to cuddle and has some mild separation anxiety. If you’re the only one home, he’ll desperately want to be your friend; but he’s a quiet guy who loves napping (or a nice long walk) otherwise.
