I love my home in Riceville Forest and I’m looking for a housemate who will love it too. :)

Your room is comfortably furnished with a queen bed (LinenSpa mattress), side table, small dresser and chair. The full bath has a tub/shower and is just off your bedroom. The common areas (kitchen, dining area, living room) are pleasantly decorated and have nice light throughout the day.

There’s a sweet front porch and sitting area to have coffee or just watch the garden grow, or a back balcony overlooking the trees (and a mountain view in winter months). The gardens (pollinator, vegetable, berries and fruit trees, herbs, natives, regenerative/permaculture principles) are delightful, the grounds are forested with trees and wildlife (and yes, you’ll occasionally see a bear), there’s a great fire circle area for fire gazing or friends/music gatherings. Riceville Forest is a beautiful neighborhood to take walks or a short drive to Blue Ridge Parkway, Downtown, Charles Owen lake, many nearby hiking trails.

The house looks like a little cabin in the woods but is open and spacious with vaulted ceilings and nice window views of the surrounding Pisgah forest. There’s a separate apartment downstairs that is rented to your other “housemate” (27 yo) who shares the outdoor grounds as well. She contributes a great vibe to the house as a singer~songwriter, wisdom seeker and lover of all things nature. We call the place “The Sanctuary.” :) We are looking for somebody to share the house and treat it like it’s home, long-term or just stopping through for a home away from home.

Some considerations:

1. I’m a musician (mostly folk/americana music) and a vocal coach. The master bedroom of the house is my music studio. The studio is just off the front entrance so students can come in for a lesson without entering the common areas. I teach 3-4 days a week (11:00am hours to early evening (generally not past 6:30pm) and am often rehearsing in the studio. I’m looking for a roommate who sees the house being filled with music as an added plus!
2. I don’t drink alcohol and would prefer to have a roommate who either doesn’t drink or is a very light drinker. I’m OK with occasional cannabis use but only outside. I strive to be my best healthy, positive, aware, ever-evolving self without any substances.
3. I have 2 cats (G-string and Adeline) and a small rat terrier dog (Rebel). They’re in the house most of the time and will love having you around. I’m looking for someone who doesn’t have pets of their own but loves to be around them!

We call the place “The Sanctuary.” :) About me: I’m home often, but not all the time and am relatively quiet when I’m not teaching or playing music. In the evenings, if I’m not out playing/listening to music, I like to relax in the many outdoor areas, watch a good movie/show or read.. and am usually in my studio teaching or out in the garden during the day. I lead a healthy lifestyle, cook healthy meals (sometimes from the garden) and keep the house relatively tidy but I’m not fanatical about it. I stay active with walking, hiking, swimming, yoga, strength training, etc. I’m passionate about; sharing the magic of Singing/the Voice with my students, nurturing connections with nature, whole health living, writing/creating music and building community. I like to think I have a nice sense of humor, am kind in all things, am happy and healthy and find contentment in the simple things in life but also strive for my better, higher self.
