We have a beautiful five-bedroom home, including an unused bedroom upstairs. We share kitchen/family room, living room, laundry, pool, spa, and basement exercise area with Peloton and a movie theater. We are an environmentally conscious family, slowly converting two acres of mostly lawn into space for growing food for ourselves and the community and restoring native plants to be beautiful and to support native wildlife.

We’re a family of mom, Dad, two teenagers living in a five bedroom home on two acres in Potomac. We have many animals: Fenn (dog, husky mix), McChonky (indoor/outdoor cat), Minnie & Oreo (rabbits), Ramen (ball python snake), as well as our chickens.

Mom is in the Masters of Counseling program at the Universities at Shady Grove. Dad is a software engineer who works from home part-time. We moved from California two years ago, where for 10 years we shared our home with students, athletes, and young professionals. Our lives have been enriched by sharing space with people who share values and interests.

We enjoy games, hiking, gardening, baking, and watching movies and TV to relax. We eat mostly vegetarian and multi-ethnic food. All utilities are included in rent, and if a resident wishes to eat meals with us, we can calculate how to pay a fair portion of groceries. We also have a cleaning service every other week, and you have access to free eggs from our chickens and produce from the garden (seasonally). Our home is not readily accessible by mass transit; it is not viable to live here without a car.

We’ve learned a lot in our many years of sharing space, and finding a great fit is really important, so we have a screening process starting with messaging and talking before we meet you or show the house. If you feel hesitant after reading what we’ve shared, I’d offer that this is probably not the right fit for you.
