About the room

This awesome community could be your next home! Come join The Village, Portland’s best Co-living community located just off Mississippi Ave in Portland, OR.

The houses all share multiple large kitchens that are fully stocked with cooking/baking basics, a spacious living room, multiple dining rooms, indoor storage, washers & dryers, and an incredible outdoor courtyard space with a fire pit. The Village is a unique shared, co-living housing community in NE Portland. The Village consists of 26 community members across four separate houses – Farm House, Waffle House, Pickle House, and the Risky House – each with its own unique culture and traditions. The Waffle House, Pickle House, and Risky House each offer 7-bed, 7-bath homes designed for co-living. The Farm House is a 5 bed, 3 bath house that was built in the 1900s but renovated to be the common house at the Village. Despite living in different houses, people can often be found hanging out together in the courtyard, sharing dinner, or coming together for events.

Rent ranges from $850 - $1250 a month, depending on the size and whether or not it has a private bathroom. An additional $100 for utilities; water, sewer, trash, gas, cable, internet, and electricity.

About the roomies

We live in a seven bedroom house with one room becoming available August 1st. Seven people probably sounds like a lot for one house but we are very calm and quiet. Many of us work from home and will cross paths in the kitchen throughout the day. We often hang out together, laughing and joking or discussing more serious things. We have a weekly house dinner that everyone contributes to and will go out for spontaneous drinks on Mississippi from time to time. Historically our house has been about 50% immigrant/POC and of those of us staying in the house three are immigrants (from Infia, Ireland, Argentina), and three are white.

We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute and participate in our house activities including social things and chores. We’re hoping whoever moves in will be our friend and enjoy spending time with us and that you’ll feel comfortable communicating needs and boundaries. We welcome friendly personalities who want to contribute to our home.

Our house is one of four houses in a community of roughly 25 people. There is a main house that everyone here has access to with a large kitchen, dining room and living room as well as laundry and storage. 25 people may sound overwhelming but it’s still quite easy to get your alone time without being disturbed. As a community we get together for a parties, meals, and monthly meetings.

We have one 3rd floor loft (~$1250) available August 1st. If you think you’d be a good fit in our home or would like to know more please respond to these questions. In your response please tell us a little about yourself including:

What does home mean to you? What does community mean to you? What are your hobbies and interests? What are your needs in a home? Anything else you think is interesting/exciting/relevant
