Paulette's room

The room will be emptied within the next two weeks. At least you can see the nice windows. This is a one-year opportunity to rent a 9x10, east-facing room (stays cool) in a home situated in quiet, safe neighborhood minutes away from Diablo Valley College, grocery, shopping, bike trail, and open space for hiking. Carpet will be freshly shampooed, and there is a 3.5 foot closet. The owner is living out-of-town for one year (Sept 1, 2023-Sept. 1, 2024) during the week for work, but she will come home on weekends to be with her two casts. The other roommate is her 23-year-old son who works full-time as an ironworker.

Two cats, Gary and Lucy. You MUST love cats. We have never had a roommate, and Gary will be slow to warm. You must be prepared to allow him to acclimate to you slowly. He and his sweet sister are rescue cats, so early trauma has made him scared of strangers, but once he comes to trust you, he is a total sweetheart and lap cat. We would help ease the transition by slowly introducing you over a few visits. This will be the greatest challenge in the beginning, but he eventually warms up. The second roommate is my 23-year-old son. He works full-time as an ironworker and leaves by 6:00 a.m. daily. Monday through Friday by 9:00 p.m. we require noise to be turned down to a minimum. (The room for rent shares a wall with his room.) You would share the bathroom and be expected to clean the bathroom on a rotating pattern of every other week. This is a sober, smoke-free household. If you like to “party”, this is not a good household for you. Employment verification and two professional, non-family references are required. Room is still set up as owner’s office, but photos will be available soon.
