About the room

The house is located a few blocks off SE Division St. The neighborhood is lovely, safe, and walkable. Also quite close to various public transit routes. The area is rich in all the amenities of the city, including coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and even a movie theater.

Rent is $900 dollars a month, $1000 for the security deposit and utilities range from $75- $175 per month: all depending on the season and if we are paying water that month. The house is a 3 bedroom home with 2 full bathrooms. The house includes: hardwood floors throughout, A/C and heating, a large remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast nook, a dining room, a large living room with a fireplace, and a partially finished basement for storage. Additionally, the backyard boasts 4 fruit trees, a picnic area, and a quiet green space. We are responsible for some light yard care. The room for rent is upstairs, good sized, has lots of sunshine, and comes with a substantial walk-in closet. There are a few pictures of the room posted here; one without any furniture and one with. Note that the bed pictured is queen-sized and there is still substantial room for other items. The walk-in closet currently holds 2 dressers and then some.

Walk Score: 84 Transit Score: 53 Bike Score: 98

The landlord is local, personable, and just wants people to love the house and make it a home. It is a one-year lease, and the landlord will run a credit and background check. You will also need to carry Renter’s Liability Insurance in the amount of $100,000.

We are looking for a third roommate to join us hopefully by early September.

We think of the home as a calm respectful space where we can relax from the day. Open and respectful communication and collaboration is paramount.

This is not a home for parties or smokers, and unfortunately, the house is not ADA-accessible.

If this sounds like it might be a good fit, shoot us an email! We invite folks to share a bit about themselves and the sort of things you are looking for in a home. We look forward to talking with you!

About the roomies

Both of us are working professionals, friendly, and enjoy socializing. This house would be a great fit for someone similar who is 30 +, LGBT+ friendly, independent, responsible, and who enjoys living communally. We also check in regularly and divide up shared responsibilities. We are on the clean side and would prefer someone that wants to keep all common spaces well-maintained.

M: Is a 37 yr old educator. M has worked as a public school teacher, a Waldorf teacher, and a special ed teacher. She has decided to work as a substitute for the coming academic year. Additionally, she teaches art to teens at the local community center. M enjoys cooking, making jewelry, getting out into nature and adores falling into a good book.

J: Is a medical professional in the pediatric field. She loves the outdoors, being active, and creating art. J also has a small 7yr old pup (less than 20lbs), who is very well trained. We are not looking for any additional pets at this time.
