We share a large, classic, comfortable Victorian home surrounded by 2 gorgeous acres of trees, vegetable and flower gardens, and lush grass. It really is a delight to drive up to this house at the end of the day. The charming grounds and home’s architectural style are so welcoming.

Rent is $415-565/month (depending upon number of people in the house, and which room you choose) plus heat and utilities. Housemates also share common expenses (e.g. internet, paper towels, trash bags, and the like) and cleaning responsibilities.

About us: We are 3 people: 2 women and 1 male, all working professionals. Two work in healthcare, 1 works in retail management. We usually have 5 people living in the house, and are looking to fill 2 more rooms soon. Just to say, that because of the size of the house and the rotating work schedules of the people living within it, we have almost never had a wait for the bathroom, or a crowded kitchen!

We are all very considerate of one another’s space and time when we are at home. We work hard, and when we are home we like to enjoy our down time by cooking, reading, working in the gardens, hanging out in the relaxing outdoor sitting areas (see photo), or sitting down for a glass of wine with a roommate and watching some trash tv. We are looking for someone who can appreciate that home is a place to unwind, without drama, and be respectful of a shared space re: noise levels, activity, mess, care for each others’ things. When friends are hosted for a dinner or visit and so forth, we let each other know in advance.

A little bit more about the house: the house has all wood floors, historical details (lighting fixtures, decorative molding), high (13 ft?!) ceilings, and large windows. A pretty porch laden with flowering plants winds around the front of the house in the summer and there are chairs for sitting. There is a deck attached to the back of the house that also contains plants, chairs and a small table. It’s a nice space for enjoying a quiet cup of coffee or glass of wine. The house sits back down a driveway that is hardly visible from the road. The house sits within a parcel of land (3-4 acres) all to itself, surrounded by trees that buffer visibility and sound from the surrounding roads.

On the ground floor there is a large, fully equipped and functional kitchen to cook and eat in. There is a dining area off of a common living room with sofas/chairs. There is a cozy nook seating area for reading, or drinking tea in the AM within a large bay window with many plants (one of the roommates has a green thumb!), and a common office room with windows looking onto the yard. There are 2 bathrooms (1 with shower/2nd floor, 1 with tub/ground floor). On the second floor, there are three bedrooms comfortably spaced out from one another. One of these rooms will be available to rent on November 16, and another on December 1. On the third floor, there are two bedrooms across from each other, both occupied by females.

There is ample off street parking. There is a washer/dryer in the house, and a large barn for extra storage of bikes, gardening supplies, kayaks, camping gear, etc.

Animal life: We currently have one mid-sized dog. She is a rescue. She is affectionate towards people, and also does her own thing. Unfortunately, while she is great with humans, she is selective about other dogs on her territory. So, while it is possible, it is unlikely that we will be able to accommodate another dog. Sadly, no cats allowed due to allergies.

Time frame: The rooms will be available to sublet on Nov 16 and Dec 1, on a month by month basis (with 30 days notice if deciding to move out). Our preference is to extend the room to someone long term, but let us know if you are interested and have another time frame. We are flexible for the right person.

5 roommates and 1 dog currently reside at the house. Our ages range from 25-61. We have a roommate agreement (that we all have agreed to and that we all sign) which spells out our boundaries and responsibilities to one another in order to avoid conflict. We seek to achieve a peaceful, no drama, friendly, safe home for all of us who live here.
