Hello All,

My name is Josh and I have a room for rent in the lovely town of Kittredge which is right outside of Evergreen.

About the place: Rent is $1000, utilities included in the summer and adjusted in the winter. The house is a cozy mountain home with a wood burning stove and a well-kept interior. I am offering the master bedroom that has a private bathroom + shower. There is also space in a second upstairs room for a small office or entertainment space. This place is ideal for the nature lover as I am the last house on the hill and back up to nothing but forest. I often get Elk and Deer that roam through the area. The kitchen is in good shape though not the most modern. I have never had a problem with plumbing.

Because the house in on a hill it would be ideal if you are comfortable driving in the snow. AWD is a very good idea though I would feel fine with a front wheel drive with winter tires. The road is plowed by the city, and I have never had a hard time getting to the house. The one downside to this place is the limited parking. There are a few spots in front of the house, but they are shared by the community and sometimes (not often) fill up. There are alternative options in case that happens. I am working on digging out a new parking spot in the front yard, but it is slow going.

About me: I am a 36 year old working professional. I have an 8:00 to 5:00 where I work in a lab doing research in the field of renewable energy. I tend to be in bed around 10. I am a social person and like to hang out with friends, but I don’t often have company to my place. The house tends to be a place to relax and recharge though I don’t mind if you have company from time to time. In my free time I am an avid mountain lover. I love backpacking, rock climbing, back-country skiing, and general mountaineering. I don’t have a garage, but I do have room to store gear if you have any of your own.

Pets: I have two small and very friendly dogs. It would be best if you like dogs because they will want to cuddle when you are on the couch. I would be open to having one more well-behaved dog in the house. There is a small dog door that leads to a run for them during the day. I would be willing to discuss reduced rent in exchange for dog sitting as I do tend to travel a lot. I am afraid that I have to say no to any cats.

Location: I work in Golden and have a 25 minute commute and never run into traffic. I would say anywhere in the Golden, western Lakewood and western Centennial area is not a bad commute. For people working in Denver it can be a bit more of a headache, but I promise that every time you drive home into the mountains it is easy to leave the day behind you.

Misc: I am flexible with the move in date. The lease length is kind of open ended right now. I imagine I will be having roommates for a long time to come. I am LGBT friendly, and I would hope anyone living there would be the same. I will ask for a deposit, but we can work out the details in person. (Could do payments…). If you would like previous roommate references, let me know. The master bedroom has a newer king size bed in it. I can dispose of it if you are attached to your own bed.
