About the room
Amazing location and incredible access to public transportation! We are one block from the X2 bus stop and streetcar stop. The bus takes you to the heart of DC (downtown) and the streetcar takes you through the H street corridor filled with shops including a Whole Foods, bars, restaurants. There are easy metro connections. If you’re game to walk, the nearest metro stop is .8 mile away and can take you direct to Dulles and DCA. We are a block from RFK fields- bike trails to Navy Yard, great place to jog, walk, exercise, play disc golf. If you’re into the festival scene, RFK festival grounds are within a short walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet with friendly neighbors. The house itself has an amazing kitchen if you’re into cooking/baking and a gorgeous second floor bathroom suite with a clawfoot tub and skylight. The suite has a lot of storage space: each renter will have their own medicine cabinet, a drawer, personal sink, an undersink cabinet, and some shelf space. Living room and dining room are both furnished, available for your use. An outdoor patio with a gas grill and chairs is available. You’re welcome to set up a container garden if you’d like. Laundry facilities are available in the basement. There are two rooms available. One room has two separate spaces with a sizable storage nook. The other room is large enough to accommodate a king size bed and has a lot of closet space with built in drawers and shelving. Both rooms have a lot of natural light coming in from the windows and individual A/C units so you can control the temperature in your room. Each room has a ceiling fan also.
About the roomies
I am a middle-aged professor, quite the homebody, who likes to do quiet things at home (read, puzzles, writing, cooking/baking, television). I prefer to socialize outside the home. I work some of the time from home and travel often.
