About the room
VISITING SCHOLARS WELCOME. FRAGRANCE-FREE three-bedroom house. Two rooms are currently available–one of them until August. The rooms are optionally furnished with desk, bed, lamps, console/dresser and so on.
The house is in Albany, very close to the Berkeley border, easy walking and cycling distance to North Berkeley BART and other good things.
Depending on the evolution of the house, in the long run there are possibilities ranging from shared staples to co-op. I’m not a neatnik and am not offended by books and papers being left about. The important thing is some agreement over what’s comfortable and what’s not.
Shared areas include the living room and kitchen, which are more than twice the size of rooms #1 and #2. In the longer run, I hope to equip both shared areas with ample tables or other comforts for writing, study, or project space. The small outbuilding shown in the pictures is nearly built and will offer additional outdoor space that might include a soaking tub or sauna but can also be used for quiet space. I hope to add a small greenhouse for additional outdoor space later on. You’ll share the better bathroom with one person. We use Ethernet (faster, more secure, less interference); no WiFi. Miele washer and dryer in the back bathroom. I can teach you how to use the espresso machine.
A lease of up to 9 or 12 months is fine and can be extended/renewed based on mutual agreement.
