About the room

The room is a furnished master bedroom in a 3-bedroom apartment. Furnishings include: a queen bed, 2 chest of drawers, small bookcase, table with 2 chairs. The room has its own bathroom, large walk-in-closet and even a wood burning fireplace. The common areas of the apartment have: a washer/dryer, dishwasher, granite countertops, and black kitchen appliances. Amenities found in the Luxury Gated Community are: Pool with hot tub, 24-hour fitness center, BBQ Grilling area, Indoor Basketball court, Sand Volleyball Court, and Car Wash center. The apartment is located 5 minutes to DNT or PGBT, 10 minutes to Legacy West, 12 minutes to The University of Texas at Dallas and walking distance to Barnes & Noble, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. There is plenty of off street parking inside the gated community.

The roommate would be added to my existing lease and as such would have to pass the apartment complex’s policies on that which include background/credit checks.

About the roomies

I am a married 48-year-old Male. Due to family situations, my wife and step-son returned to their home country of Russia, at least for the next year, maybe two. While they remain on the lease, in case the situation there changes, I do not foresee them moving back for at least a year. While my family is gone, I would like to have a roommate for the master bedroom to save some extra money and a bit of company. I am an IT professional who moved to the area, from the Washington, DC area, only last year and as such do not have many acquaintances outside of work. I’m home most of the time as I work from home most days. I’m quite, clean and organized. English is my native language, but I also speak some Russian. I like photography, craft beers and watching movies and TV shows.

I do not smoke (it is non-smoking community anyway), I don’t do drugs or have pets. I am not opposed to pets, I had dogs in my family when I was growing up and I like and have been around cats too. But any pets that come would have to conform to the apartment complex’s policies on breeds and any additional fees due to the pets would be incurred by the roommate. Utilities, I would want the roommate to contribute to utilities but is negotiable either a flat monthly fee or % could be worked out.
