We have a room available for rent in a quaint downtown home 10 minutes walking distance from downtown Chico.

Move in date: August 1, 2023 Rent: $717 + 1/3 of pg&e bill Lease: 1 year beginning August 1st

The landlord is a property management company that takes care of landscaping and maintenance.

Your space: The available room is downstairs, has its own half bathroom, and 3 windows. The current roommate you’ll be replacing works from home, and you’re welcome to do that too.

You’d be sharing the house with 2 professionals in their 30s, 1 male and 1 female, who both work outside of the house. Both are hard-working, pseudo-nerds who want a peaceful living situation. We don’t have a drive way, so there is only street parking, but we do have some outdoor space in the backyard.

About the roommates:

The upstairs roommate is a high school teacher in his 30s, Chico native, 5am gym rat, very into D&D and tabletop games, and mostly likes to decompress/keep to himself at home after giving his energy to high school kids all day. Self-proclaimed nerd. He occasionally hangs out with the roommates for movie night or to try out new restaurants, but mostly does his own thing. He rarely drinks, 420 friendly, allergic to cats, and is overall a very well-rounded intelligent person who is great to debate with. If he warms up to you, he might even let you have some of his legendary strawberry shortcake.

Roommate pet peeve: he goes to bed at 8:30pm due to waking up super early, and needs the noise level to be reasonable at night.

The downstairs roommate (who will be across the hallway from you) is a tech professional with a creative writing side hustle, wakes up around 4-5am for yoga/meditation, reads a lot, enjoys cooking and you’ll often find her working on a keto recipe in the kitchen. She’s equally introverted/extroverted and is happy keeping to herself or chatting/hanging out if present company is game. She drinks socially and does not partake in 420. Film nerd, usually down to watch something with good company.

Roommate pet peeve: she expects roommates to be good about cleaning up after themselves in common spaces, and will usually be the one to speak up when/if that’s not happening. We’re a household of three independent adults living together and try to be considerate.
