I am renting out one room in a charming, remodeled 3 bedroom farm house in downtown Edgewood sitting on just short of half an acre. Very quite most of the time except the occasional passing train. Bathroom for the most part will be your own except use of the shower (only one shower in the home for now).

You would be sharing the home with me (43m), my dog, a cat and my 13 year old son who is with me 50% of the time. If you have pets I’m fine with that as long as they are friendly and you care and clean up after them. No pet deposit or pet rent.

Rent $800 includes one bedroom, use of common spaces (kitchen, dining and living room and use of washer/dryer), internet, water, electricity and mini fridge in your room. The going rate for a one bedroom apartment in the Canton area is $500-$800 a month and they do not include internet/utilities and will include numerous fees and pet deposits.

Possibly open to roommate with child.

Basic expectations:

1. If you choose to eat what food my son and I prepare, the expectation would be for you to chip in regularly for groceries.
2. Smoking is permitted outside the house.
3. Keep room clean and assist with cleaning common spaces.
4. Take care or your pets and child.
5. Limit guests, especially overnight and/or bf/gf’s as I will have my son living in the home part time.
6. Be respectful to me, my son and pets. 1
7. Make yourself at home.

Process:

1. Phone interview.
2. Tour of home and in person interview.
3. Verification of employment and/or income (if retired/disabled) and background check done at time of tour of home/in person interview.

43m divorced and works from home the majority of the time, so if you have pets, they will have human company. I’m very friendly and outgoing and spend a good bit of my time outside of work at home. I will occasionally get out for a couple of evenings and an occasional weekend about once a month with friends or to date. I love to cook often and entertain friends on occasion.

My 13 year old son is very sweet, mature, respectful and also very outgoing and talkative.

I have a 2 year old cat that is very sweet and has a dog personality (will bug you more than the dog) and a 3 year old German Shepherd that is a bit antisocial for a couple of days until he realizes you are a part of his pack and then he is a big baby. My pets are family and do spend a lot of time indoors with my son and I.

I would prefer a roommate that is outgoing and an extrovert and loves animals, however would be fine with someone who is an introvert and prefers to keep to themselves.
