The room is a converted family room, about 210 sq ft, with a sliding glass door that can be used as a private entry if desired. The bathroom is across the hall and the kitchen is adjacent to the room. There are two doors, one to the kitchen and the other to the hall. The doors have lattice glass in them and horizontal blinds on the inside for privacy. There is a wardrobe and a bookshelf that can stay in the room, since there is no closet or shelving.
There is a refrigerator and 3 large pantry shelves for the renter’s use.
We live in a two story, 5+ bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It’s on a court and very safe. The periodic noise is from children playing, dogs barking, birds calling, motorized tools and cars as neighbors head for work. We have central heating and air and solar panels. We do our best to conserve energy and water. Our front yard is predominantly natives and drought tolerant plants. The backyard is a mix of fruit trees, succulents and a random assortment of potted plants and legacy plants. The yard is always a work in progress. My daughter has focused on building the soil and I have worked to create a wildlife habitat (it’s not manicured, by any means).
I am a retired Federal worker and my adult daughter (42) lives with me. We have 2 little dogs downstairs, 5 pet cats and 9 rescued feral cats upstairs, and 6 chickens in a pen outside.
My daughter works part-time and I am active in my Buddhist organization. For the most part, we are home.
