About the room

Private bedroom available in 950 sq ft, 2 beds and 1 1/2 bath apartment in NW Gainesville. The available bedroom is 9’8“x12’ with a double closet and primary access to the full bathroom (shared shower/tub use). $550 a month rent includes all utilities and high-speed internet (no cable TV, though) as well as the rent share. All shared spaces are furnished (with some room for additions), the bedroom for rent is unfurnished, but I do have an air mattress you are welcome to use if needed. Shared furnishings include a countertop dishwasher, microwave, mini washing machine and clothes dryer, and other kitchen appliances. There is also a commercial laundry room and a pool available at the property across the street. You will need to meet all leasing requirements of the property management company (including credit and background checks and associated $75 application fee) and be added to the lease as the apartment does not allow subletting. The landlord requires a 650 credit score and minimum income of approximately $1390/month or a guarantor to cosign the lease. You will be expected to pay $450 towards the security deposit to me upon move-in. Pets are allowed and welcome, as long as you cover the required fees with the landlord ($350 non-refundable pet deposit for first animal, $100 for second, due at lease signing) and agree to cover for any property damage if the situation arises. 5-6 miles from the center of UF’s campus, the complex is quiet and neighborly, with plenty of shared green space and only one shared wall with our neighbor (no upstairs or downstairs neighbors here). Apartments are older but well maintained with good pest control and quick responses to maintenance issues. There is unassigned lot parking in front of the apartment that is readily available, with 2 spots allocated per unit. The in-unit laundry room has its own entry off the kitchen and is convenient for bicycles or toweling off pets. The complex is a short drive or bus ride to Santa Fe College, walking/biking distance to the Millhopper Branch Library as well as the Hunters Crossing shopping center (Publix, Ace, CVS, Walgreens, UPS, etc), the Magnolia Parke business center, and Possum Creek Park. Easy access to bus route 43.

About the roomies

I’m a non-traditional student in the interior design program at UF. I have an AAS in baking and pastry and worked as a pastry chef for about 8 years before deciding to go back to school to finish my bachelor’s degree, and before that I studied painting. My interests include: board games, painting, drawing, baking, polymer clay jewelry making, collage, printmaking, paper craft and book arts, going to museums/galleries/art festivals, murder mysteries, chill simulation/management or puzzle-based video games, history and art history, and animated films. I am a homebody by nature and introverted, so I need the occasional private time to recharge, but can also be quite chatty, in case you couldn’t tell. I prefer to socialize in small groups over large parties. I’m on the ace spectrum so you don’t have to worry about surprise overnight guests. I do have ADHD and anxiety so I can be a bit of a mess, especially when I’m trying to juggle a lot, and ideally would have a roommate who can relate or isn’t easily put off by my occasionally piss-poor adulting. I try not to let it impact those around me, but also am out of practice with having a roommate so I don’t know how successful I will actually be. I promise to try my best, especially with our shared space.
