Blake's room

The open room is upstairs and is 11 x 10 sq feet (135“ x 123“ to be exact) with an 8 foot ceiling. The room has one closet that is 40“ wide x 24“ deep. Right down the hall is a bathroom that you will share with one other. There is also a half bath downstairs. The washer and dryer are upstairs.

You will need to furnish your room, but the rest of the house is furnished. We will not have enough room at the house unfortunately, so if you have a lot of things, you’ll need to store them elsewhere.

Utilities are not included in the rent and will be split between 3 (2 temporarily at times if someone moves out with no immediate replacement). The lease will be 6 months with the occupant required to give a 60 day notice for moving out. The landlord will give a 60 day notice if for any reason the room can no longer be occupied (house is put up for sale for example).

Right now, myself and one other male live in the house. I am 31 and the other is 24. While we still like to drink and socialize, it is usually just on the weekends as we both have full time jobs. If you are someone who is looking for somewhere to throw raging parties, then this is not for you. Hey, you can be into that and go to raging parties elsewhere, but we just won’t be able to host here.

I went to Virginia Tech, so Hokies are encouraged, but not required! Someone in their mid-20s to early 30s with a full-time job is probably ideal, 9-5 or similar hours preferred. We like to keep the place fairly clean so someone who cleans up after themselves (and friends if you have any over) in the shared areas is required. If everyone in the house does that, then only unloading the dishwasher and taking out the trash is left to do our best at taking turns. Going to be honest, if you are a messy person, then this won’t work out. No one will be cleaning up common areas after you and if it becomes a consistent issue, you will be asked to move out.

Anyone into staying fit by exercising or playing sports as well as watching sports would fit in well. Usually, if not out of town, one of us or all of us may have a couple friends over and go out or sometimes stay in and play games. Obviously, it would be cool to find someone with similar interests to make for a more engaging house, but don’t worry if you do not share those interests as there are a lot of times where we each just keep to ourselves and do our own thing. Also, it may sound like we are looking for a guy, but girls are welcome too!

The cleanliness part may sound strict but other than that, we are pretty laid back so as long as you clean up after yourself, help unload dishes and take trash out every now and then and aren’t loud real late at night during the week, then there shouldn’t be any issues.
