About the room

This unit is located incredibly close to the popular neighborhood, North Park. Restaurants, parks, grocery stores, clubs, bars, and plenty of breweries are just a short walk away. The North Park Observatory is also close for those who love attending concerts, and the Farmers Market is a fun spot to visit every Thursday. For those who drive, we are located right next to the freeway. For those who take public transportation, we are also near many bus stops.

The unit is a 2 bed, 1 bath at 780 sq ft, and located on the top floor. The living room is nice and spacious, and gets wonderful light and air flow throughout the day, and a great view of the western sky to watch sunsets. For the hotter days, we also have a AC unit in the living room. Most of the living room will come furnished, so you will not have to worry about purchasing furniture for the shared space. If you have furniture you wanted to bring for the living room, let me know! Also, wanted to note that the space does look a bit different from these photos, but I still have the furniture and I have a smaller TV installed. The unit does face the freeway, but you get used to the noise fairly quickly and the noise is not noticeable when the windows are closed.

The available room is the master bedroom. Itโ€™s about 112 sq ft, has private access to the balcony, and comes with a larger closet. It will also include a reserved parking space in the gated lot.

The apartment management company is great and I have only had positive experiences with them since I have been here for the last 2+ years. The complex has a swimming pool, front office for packages, a gym, and a small gated area for dogs on the premises. Trash chutes/laundry rooms (washers/dryers) are on every floor. Additional costs include internet, city utilities (split across the building), and SDG&E, which is around $100-$125 depending on city utilities/SDG&E.

About the roomies

My name is Talia and I am 26 years old! I graduated from Davis in 2019 and currently work from home full-time in the nonprofit space. I love cooking, traveling, trying new things, watching tv shows, and hanging with my besties. I definitely let my brain rot on the internet more than I would like to (but I love pop culture and jokey jokes so I am stuck on TikTok and Twitter). The last movie I watched that I liked was Talk To Me. The last TV show I watched was Greyโ€™s Anatomy (and I always have strong opinions on TV shows). My current favorite song is Back on 74 by Jungle (and I love karaoke and have a karaoke mic for when I host get-togethers).

I live with my dog, Abbey who is a 14 year old Puggle. She has some separation anxiety which is being treated but she can cry when left alone for a long time. I do not leave often, but when I do I try not to leave for very long, and/or I have someone else watch her. If you are home, I would prefer to let her roam about. I would highly prefer someone who is used to living around and enjoys being around dogs for this reason.

I am looking for a roommate who is communicative, considerate of the shared space, and keeps things neat/tidy regularly (ex: putting away clutter, doing dishes in a timely manner, etc.). For chores, I believe in discussing a general timeline of when to clean things but do not think itโ€™s necessary to have a rigid chore chart. I think itโ€™s best if we would be able to clean as needed and when you have time (ie. if you make a mess or see something has gotten really dirty over time AND you have the time/energy to take care of it), and communicating once chores have been completed to ensure weโ€™re on the same page. For costs, I would prefer to split all communal items (ex: cleaning supplies, toilet paper, etc.).

I would prefer a female or non-male roommate who is intending on staying for at least a year, though I am open to shorter-term stays as well! I am smoker friendly, drinking friendly, and more than okay with you having guests over/hosting! Iโ€™d definitely love a roommate I get along well with on a personal level too. With this being said, I would feel most comfortable living with someone who left-leaning/liberal/leftist.
