I am looking a housemate for my lovely 3-bed, 2b, East Petaluma home.

About the House and Room:

The home is light and bright, with two living rooms and an open kitchen. It is single story, with a nice flowing layout. Fully furnished. Bright and simple.

There’s a ton of garden space in the backyard ready for your green thumb! (My ex was the gardener, so it’s a raw space ready to play in if you have interest!).

I have the master bed (with bath) and a small office.

You would have the other bedroom and main house bath. The room is 12 x 10 approximately, with a very large closet with a built-in organizing system (you could fit a dresser in there as well if you wanted and free up even more of the room). The room comes furnished or unfurnished, depending on what you need.

You’d have a mostly private bathroom (modern, with a shower, it is the main bath for the house, and is off the hallway, adjacent to your room).

The property also has one very small ADU/studio in the back yard that is currently rented by an awesome, quiet tenant.

Washer Dryer included. Air conditioning. Gas fireplace. Single story. Bamboo floors throughout most of the house and in the room for rent.

About Me:

I’m 51 and have owned the house for a few years. I lived in Boulder, CO for 20 years and moved back to California to be near the ocean. I have 2 very sweet kitties, Siberians, hypoallergenic, who love to play and receive pets. I’m open to a dog if they get along with the cats…but not another cat.

I love spending time by the ocean, dancing, being in nature, camping, hanging with friends, and am semi-obsessed with upcycling and reupholstering old furniture. (I use the garage for this purpose, and unfortunately, what that means is there is currently very little available storage space in the garage. But I could make room for something that’s really important to you, like a bike, so ask.

About You:

I work from home part of the time right now so am looking for someone who works out of the house at least a good portion of the time, who is non smoking, relatively substance free, a great communicator, mature, ease-full, and who is interested in the occasional meal sharing, and connecting, but also who likes to do their own thing. Stellar communication is a must. As is maturity and the ability to ask for what you need.

It’s a low-key household. The room for rent is adjacent to mine, so I’m looking for someone conscious of sound.

Also, the house is relatively fragrance free. (Essential oils, etc. are fine).

$1200 rent (includes all utilities–high speed internet, trash, water, and gas/electric). The current housemate and I also split the cost of a cleaning person 1 x a month and cleaning products.

First Month plus a $1200 deposit to move in.

Month to month lease to start.
