The details, if you are so inclined

The apartment is on Colborne Rd., Brighton MA. It’s in one of those 3-floor apartment building situations. The place is pretty standard for the area, kind of oldish but in working order (see attached photos).

The area is pretty good if you’re going to BC or BU. It’s spitting distance from the B-line. Grad students have rented here and it was good for them. Commuting downtown for work is okay (Alright, it’s kind of brutal. It’s the B-line after all. But since it’s near the beginning, you’ll usually get a seat).

Alternatively it’s a 10 minute walk to the C-line if you want a better commute into the city. Also, a 10 minute walk to get to the 86 bus which gets you to Harvard Square in ~30 minutes (great if you see yourself going occasionally, but if you need to get to Somerville or Quincy or something like that consistently, I would recommend passing on this listing. You probably won’t have a good time.)

Rent is $825/month with a $488 security deposit. Utilities and internet run about $250 per month. I typically pay those, so you wouldn’t have to worry about it. Only exception is if you use a window AC unit in the summer or stream or mine bitcoin or something like that lol. Then I would ask you to chip in for the extra usage.

Landlord lives in the building. He’s pretty cool. Is attentive to maintenance issues. Didn’t raise the rent during Covid, and over the years has been very fair about rent increases. One thing I will say is since he lives in the building and it’s not a big building, he’s also got a vested interest in finding the right person, lol.

About the roomies

In terms of sharing, you’d be living with one other person (me). I’ve lived here for 7 years and I rent the rest of the bedrooms in the apartment. I’m early 30s M. I work full time in the tech industry, and my current role is WFH. When I’m not working, I keep busy with side projects. I spend a good deal of time at home, and mostly keep to myself.
