About the room

Might have a 2nd bedroom in my condo open here soon. My friend is a PHD student at the U and will be renting out my condo and I am helping her look for roommates for the second room. Exploring but nothing solid at the moment.

Info on unit and room: 1 bed room within a 2 bedroom condo. There are stacked in unit washer and dryer for convenient laundry days. Large open concept kitchen, dining area, and living room with many tall cabinets for plenty of kitchen storage. Kitchen island has one side for bar stool seating. Gas stove, dishwasher, and plenty of counter space. Very large windows

My friend will be renting out the master bedroom of the condo but will be offering the condos one underground parking stall with this smaller of two rooms. Parking spot is close to unit.

There is one bathroom that could be treated as a private and dedicated bathroom for this bedroom as master bedroom has its own bathroom as well. Bathroom has standing only shower, not a bathtub.

(Pictures are from original staging and since, painting has been done so will not be furnished and look exactly like this) Condo has tall ceilings and polished concrete flooring. This makes for quick/easy clean up and a modern look throughout the unit.

Pets: The building and surrounding buildings are all pet friendly and much of the corners around the area have doggie poop stations which makes it nice if you are a dog owner.

Condo is first floor with a walk out patio space that leads to building front yard (good for quick potty breaks with a your pup) and quick access to the guest/visitor parking.

Aspects of the location: 2 blocks from 180 and 94 for quick access to waiter minneapolis or Saint Paul. Along the Saint Paul and Minneapolis border making you central to almost all food, nightlife, and sights of both cities. The location is a major highlight to this condo as you can be anywhere in the metro within a short drive and have many great walkable spots. Food, breweries, distilleries, etc all walkable. Building has a local grocer at the end of the building and walkable to Fresh Thyme grocery store. Walkable and safe neighborhood. GREAT for students at UMN or Hamline University being so close to both on lightrail. Building is located right on the WestGate green line stop.

About the roomies

My friend is a PHD student at the University of Minnesota. She is from Maryland but did undergrad here in MN but has lived in several cities across the US for work until returning back to minneapolis this year for her PHD. She is studious but likes to have an active social life. Clean + organized and looking for a roommate who can keep the shared spaces in reasonably good condition.

She is open to any gender but slight preference for male roommates. Open to keeping to themselves but also open to finding roommates who mesh well socially too as she recently moved and is building her network here as she settles into her multiyear PHD program. She loves snowboarding, live music events, music festivals, fitness, and traveling. The biggest request in another roommate is someone who knows how to respectfully and directly communicate (not what we know here as Minnesota passive aggressive, haha).

If you are looking for a living situation where you can work predominantly from home, please look elsewhere. In-person work would make the most sense in this apartment arrangement.
