Looking for a roommate for next year, preferably a girl, but anyone is welcome to reach out! Your lease would start July 13th. Rent is $1782 a month not including utilities so your share would be about $890. Utilities are roughly $120 a month in the summer, accounting for internet, water, and heating, and closer to $180 in the winter. Your half of the deposit will be about $520 I believe. A parking pass is $80 a month. The room that would be yours has a huge walk-in closet, a large tub/shower, and a spacious bathroom attached, as well as a balcony. All of the furniture pictured in the bedroom belongs to my current roommate. Aside from the bar stools, everything pictured in the living room belongs to me and will be staying, and the balcony furniture also belongs to me (balcony access is currently shared but we can work out our own agreement). There is an in-unit washer/dryer, and maintenance is very fast to respond to issues. The walls are very thick so noisy neighbors has never been an issue for me, and I have a Sonos speaker system set up in my bedroom and in the living room, including a subwoofer. The carpet was freshly installed when I moved in last year, so it’s very clean and in great condition. Painting is allowed, as is nailing things into the walls, so long as you paint over it when you move out. All of the windows in the apartment overlook Monroe Park, and the view and location are both great. It takes me about five minutes to walk to the engineering college/business school budlings, and no more than 15 minutes to Oliver Hall, which is the farthest point away on campus. I’m working on a little arts and crafts project on the coffee table right now, but otherwise it is usually kept clean. I’m open to decoration changes that you may want to make in the common area. You are more than welcome to play the piano whenever you like. Cats and small dogs are allowed for a $30 fee, and I would be more than happy to have a cat, but I would have to meet any dogs first. The apartment is generally a lot brighter than some of the photos make it seem, the camera exposure is just low so that the windows aren’t blown out. I am a 20 year old girl, comp sci major, junior at VCU. I like to rock climb and you can find me at Peak several nights a week. I have a lot of houseplants and I have a pet corn snake named Laura (Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks). I really love where I live and think of it as my home, and I hope that you will as well! I care a lot about how it looks and about decorating it to make it feel warm and inviting. I’m fairly reserved most of the time, but I hope to become good friends with whoever I end up living with.
