Laurel's room

Hey there! I was an airbnb host for a long time and I loved hosting my guests, but I would really like to move towards creating more of a shared home community atmosphere with the right person as a short term or possibly long term housemate.

You: Mature, motivated, employed, positive, respectful, communicative, plant based or at least health minded and non smoker. Love dogs and willing to work with my dog and his trainer so all feel comfortable in the home. Don’t have pets- my dog wouldn’t approve.

It would be great to share my home with someone who enjoyed gardening and could occasionally let my dog out to potty on long work days and/or pet/plant sit if I’m out of town.

This house: recycles, composts, reduces waste where possible, respects resources like water, electricity- smart thermostat with eco settings, stays reasonably clean and tidy. If you don’t tolerate the Texas heat well and like to live indoors in an icebox, you won’t be a good fit!

Neighborhood: Becoming more walkable and is definitely very bikable! Palamino coffee is within walking distance. Mueller lake park with wildflower trails on one end and cafes, bars, farmers market on other end is a 5 minute drive. Springdale General with Medici coffee, French Bakery and arts center is 2 miles away. Entrance to Walnut Creek walk/bike trail 2 miles away. Lots of great new restaurants and cool artsy stuff on the East Side is easily accessible.

The space/your space: The house used to be divided into 2 separate spaces. Its currently not, but its pretty easy to have privacy because of the design. Your room is in the main part of the house with the full kitchen, living room, utility room with w/d. The room is average sized wtih a small closet, comfy queen sized bed, desk, and opens onto the back yard/garden (the desk in the pictures will be replaced by a smaller one). There is a bathroom next to your room that would basically be your bathroom. Its also the guest bathroom because of the location next to the living room. I have a bathroom in my space.

All bills paid including all utilities plus wifi, netflix, disney plus, ridwell, simplisafe alarm. Plan to add a housecleaning service once a month as a trade for helping out some with my dog.

Serious inquiries only for short term possibly leading to longer term, background check, reference check (personal and employment) and short term lease with 1st and last months rent (deposit).

I work a lot, but I try to make the most of my time off - cycling, DIY house projects, gardening- I’m creating a back yard sanctuary with veggie patch and native plants.
