Dexter Avenue

The apartment is a 5-bed on two floors. It is spacious with hardwood floors throughout, natural woodwork, two full bathrooms, a spacious front porch and a beautiful backyard we share with our downstairs neighbor. The apartment features one complete kitchen with fridges, sink, oven, stove, dishwasher and in-unit washer + dryer on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has a dining room joined to a spacious den. A gas furnace provides steam radiator heat on both floors in the winter. There is street parking in the summer months from March to October. In the winter months we have the option to tandem park in the driveway, with space for up to four cars. Located close to restaurants, local grocery stores/ bakeries and a couple of minutes further away Arsenal Yards and the Mount Auburn Cemetery. The bus to Harvard square is on the main road, a 5 minute walk away.

One of the rooms on the 3rd floor ($890/month) will be available starting June 1st or earlier if needed until the end of the lease cycle, August 31st 2023, with the option to renew the lease with us for the coming year. The room is ~140 sqft with a sunny desk nook, built in drawers and a spacious closet. The space comes unfurnished. Utilities are not included in the rent. Water is included. First month’s rent and one month’s security deposit are required. Unfortunately pets are not permitted by our lease.

We are five people who moved into this apartment in September 2022, but some of us have lived in a different house together since 2020. We bonded over potlucks, board game nights, silly jam sessions and generally surviving a crazy time together. While everyone pursues their own lives, we created a home that we are all happy to come back to at the end of the day and we organize regular get-togethers to enjoy each other’s company.

Anja and Ian, both young professionals, share a room on the 2nd floor. We both like to hike and spend time in the woods. Anja loves arts and crafts of any type and can often be found spinning, weaving, painting, burning etc. in the common spaces. Ian enjoys brewing diverse varieties of beer, woodworking, and video games. (Our kegerator with beer on one tap and sparkling water on the other is only one of many great features of this house.)

Sam and Lauren share a room on the third floor. Sam is currently working from home and has a passion for mushroom hunting. His banjo tunes regularly make the sun come out. Lauren, a science teacher, has the best middle school stories to tell and lives her creativity while painting, cooking, or coming up with hilarious practical jokes.

Josh recently moved up to Watertown from Rhode Island and enjoys engaging conversation covering diverse topics. He works in the field of political organizing and strives to help create a more just and equitable country for all.
