About the room

I am currently in search of one roommate to share my beautiful, spacious townhouse with. Other than the company of my feline friends (two reside in the house), the house includes sunlight-filled bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs. The room that is available has large, west facing windows, a multi speed ceiling fan, and a closet. There is also an upstairs hallway closet that is devoted to the new tenet as well for extra storage. Downstairs, there is a half bath, a living room, dining room, and kitchen with 10 ft ceilings and an in-unit washer and dryer in the basement. The fenced in back patio provides privacy from the neighbors and is fully equipped with patio furniture and is East facing, so sunny morning coffees and shaded evening hang outs are always available. The living space isn’t even the best part! The house is an equidistant walk from both the Georgia Ave and Columbia Heights metro stops (~10 mins). It’s also mere blocks from some Columbia Heights favorites, including The Coupe, Wonderland Ballroom, and the local Giant and Target (oh and the new Taco Bell Cantina, just in case the mood ever strikes).

Lastly, this townhouse has a separate English basement that is currently occupied by a lovely couple. So, utilities for the whole house are split four ways (usually between $70-$100 a month per person depending on the season). I am looking for someone to start a lease in June, but there is flexibility for moving in late May if you anticipate needing extra time. Reach out if you have any questions and feel free to pass along this listing to anyone who is in need of a new place!

About the roomies

I have been in DC five years and here in Columbia Heights for three sharing this space with my two cats and a friend who will be moving out. When I first moved to DC, I worked as a scientist at a non-profit but now I work in the federal government. I participate in a local community pride band and love going to live shows around the city at places like Slash Run or the 9:30 club. I tend to be pretty quiet at home - working remotely, doing meal prep, or hanging out with my cats. I am an introvert who is bad at overpacking my social calendar, but most of my socializing occurs outside of the house other than an occasional dinner or board game night with friends. We share the town house with basement neighbors that we share the laundry and backyard with.
