This is a bedroom in my sprawling ranch home. It is fully furnished with a bed, two dressers, mirror and nightstand. The room also features two windows with a ton of natural light, and TWO CLOSETS.

The house has central heat and air. The furnace is BRAND NEW. You are free to use my washer and dryer as long as you can keep it to two or three loads a week. (I have seriously had people who have tried to do a load or more every single day and that’s just not reasonable.)

You will have full access to my kitchen, living room and laundry room. The kitchen includes a gas stove, microwave, all of my cookware, and dishwasher (with some limitations because it is ancient).

The house is within walking distance of a Jewel Osco, a Dollar Tree, multiple restaurants and even the Chicago Ridge Mall. Pace Routes 385, 384 and 381 are all within walking distance. This offers direct access to Moraine Valley Community College and Midway Airport.

I am a relatively young female, looking to rent exclusively to other females. I am relatively clean. I cannot stand clutter or messes in public areas, such as the kitchen, the bathroom and the living room. Things like water all over the bathroom counter and splattered food on the stove will drive me insane. I clean up after myself and I expect others to do the same. I don’t like to argue and if I ever have to say something like “Please clean the stove after you cook,” or “don’t forget to lock the door at night,” I want to be able to say these things without getting my head bitten off.

I am allergic to most perfumes and fragrances, so if you are a fragrance enthusiast or someone who considers perfume an essential part of your daily hygiene routine, it will not work out.

I have been renting out rooms for a long time, and I am really looking to have a drama-free home. I’m relatively quiet, and I spend most of my spare time either writing, reading, playing video games or browsing the internet. I work odd hours, so my work and my sleep schedules are erratic and I need someone who will respect that, just as I will respect your schedule if it’s different from mine (and it probably will be).

All personality types are welcome I’ve lived with party animals before and it works out as long as you don’t take the party home with you.

Lastly, because I will be living with you and because I do not speak any other language, you must be fluent in English. I do not care if it is your first or second language but you need to be able to understand me and I need to able to understand you because communication is very important in a household.

A surprising number of people are under the impression that their children are not people… this room is for only one person, and that means children too. Caged animals are negotiable (hamsters, rats, reptiles, gerbils). No dogs. I am undecided about cats, and willing to discuss.

Currently, it is just me and a guinea pig named Ester. I am hoping to keep it to just me and one other human. We will be on opposite ends of the house, which is pretty nice, but I am right next door to the kitchen and you will be nearby the bathroom, so we will see a bit of each other.
