Rhode Island Avenue Northeast

We are looking for a new housemate for a room available in our Eckington group house (the house has 4 bedrooms & 3.5 bathrooms in total). The room is approximately 10’x11’ with a shared bathroom with 1 other roommate and it is available for move-in on April 28th! (Move-in date is slightly flexible for after the 28th). We are looking for an awesome new roommate who is communicative and friendly - message us if that is you!

Room details: The available room is on the 2nd floor. Large closet (~10’ long). The room can easily accommodate queen size bed, dresser, and work desk. Shared bathroom with one other roommate. The house was renovated in 2017 including new appliances. There is a guest half-bath, washer/dryer, dining area, kitchen (w/ dishwasher), and living room on the first floor - open layout. There is a front porch and a small sideyard (yard maintenance is included in the lease). The house is a corner rowhouse at 2nd and Rhode Island.

Neighborhood: The house is located on Rhode Island Ave NE in the Eckington neighborhood. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the Rhode Island Metro station (Red Line) and a 10-15 minute walk from the bars and restaurants in Bloomingdale (like Showtime and Boundary Stone). There are 3 different Capital Bikeshare stations located around the house (~5-minute walk). The Giant near the Rhode Island Metro and Trader Joe’s in NOMA are the closest grocery stores. It is generally easy to find street parking if you have a car.

Roommates: Three awesome roommates (ages late-20s to mid-30s) and a very sweet and gentle cat. The current roommates all work in different industries, so our schedules don’t often overlap, but we enjoy spending time with each other in the common spaces.

Lease / Rent / Utilities: Rent is $850/month plus utilities. The lease is technically month-to-month, but we are ideally looking for someone who is planning to stay long term. Utilities (gas, electric, internet) run about $100/month. Central heating and A/C. Security deposit is one month’s rent, and there is an application fee for a background check (paid to/handled by our property management company).
