About the room

We’re looking for someone to fill the other room in our Nolita apartment from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024 (with the possibility of renewal or taking over the lease after that point).

The room is spacious, quiet, and has a built-in bookshelf, desk, and shelving. It will come unfurnished (although I am happy to sell some of the pieces currently in the room). The apartment is on the third (top) floor of a small pre-war building with lots of charm and a few quirks. It’s a railroad-style unit with the bedrooms on either end and a kitchen and bathroom in between; note that there’s no separate living space. Cost is $1500*/month plus utilities (~$40/month for internet and ~$50/month for gas and electricity, though this fluctuates seasonally). (Asterisk because I anticipate a small increase in rent but have not yet received next year’s lease.)

The location is hard to beat: on a tree-lined street in the heart of Nolita, within very easy walking distance of SoHo, the LES, and Chinatown. A block away from the 6 train (Spring) and within 5 minutes of the BDFM (Broadway/Lafayette), the NWR (Prince St), and the JZ (Bowery).

About the roomies

You’d be sharing the apartment with me and my boyfriend. I’m a guy in my early 30s and my boyfriend is in his mid 20s; during the academic year, I will be spending workweeks upstate, so it’d mostly be you and him. Given the setup of the apartment, it’s a bit hard to host here, so we tend it to keep it low-key at home and socialize elsewhere. Unfortunately the space wouldn’t be large enough to accommodate another couple or pets. We’d prefer someone in their mid-twenties to thirties, respectful, easygoing, and relatively quiet and tidy. Please reach out with any questions and/or a little bit about yourself if you’re interested!
