About the room
My roommate is leaving our 3rd floor 2 bed/1 bath apartment and I am looking to fill the spot starting May 1st through April 30th. Rent is 1300 split evenly between the 2 of us. I haven’t been keeping a close eye on utility costs, but last month for gas, electric, and internet it was around $70 each. I handle payment and you can venmo or zelle me your half! The apartment has radiators. I don’t have much preferences in a roommate as long as you’re relatively clean/courteous and around my age!
Bedroom - It is pink, however, my old roommate owes a repaint which you can use whenever should you choose. Previous roommate might leave a desk if you want. if not, I can throw it out.
Living Room - I don’t use it for much, so you can put whatever you need in there. My old roommate owes a repaint on this one as well which we can do whenever. Right now there’s just a couch, a rug, and a small table with a record player (gift from a friend… I have no records to use on it!)
Kitchen - There is a dishwasher and I have a toaster. Silverware & kitchenware is shared but we may need to take inventory to stock up on some things. Food I like to keep separate, but I don’t mind sharing spices or small things. Alternate buying paper towels/garbage bags. I keep a brita which we can share as well.
Bathroom - One bathroom with a shower. Mirror cabinet and sink cabinet are split halfway between us. Alternate buying toilet paper/cleaning supplies.
Storage - There is a storage area in the basement. It can fit a bike or some boxes. Also, there is a small area outside the back stairwell which can store a few things.
Laundry - There are 2 washers and 2 dryers in the building at $1.50 per load (it’s a large building, so it’s probably better to do it during less busy hours.) There are a lot of laundromats nearby if that’s more your thing.
Parking - There is usually good street parking on Belle Plaine. If you have a lot of late nights, you might end up parking on California a few blocks east. No permits required.
Transit - 15 minute walk to the nearest brown line, but the 80 bus is right on Sacramento/Irving park which will take you to the irving park brown line or sheridan red.
About the roomies
About Me - I am a 27 year old male piano teacher. I leave to teach during the afternoons so I’m usually around in the mornings and evenings. Generally keep to myself but am always down to chat. Cello/acoustic guitar are secondary instrument so I will practice that, but only for about 30 minutes at a time. I use a keyboard to practice piano so there’s no noise. I don’t have people over much, but when I do it’s generally just one. I’m also lgbtq and vegan, not that that should affect you much! I have allergies so pets are not preferred.
