Available for rent is one bedroom, all utilities included, in a large 2-story 4 bed/2.5 bath house shared with 3 housemates.

Close to many amenities and located conveniently to both I-40 and I-85, and only 6 minutes to downtown Hillsborough, 15 minutes to downtown Durham or Chapel Hill, and 25 minutes to RTP or downtown Burlington. The home itself sits on a very large and private lot, with mature trees surrounding the house and spacious fenced-in backyard.

The bedroom itself measures approximately 10.5’x11’ and is on the second story, with good closet space, a large window, and ceiling fan, with a shared bath directly across the hall.

The house is fully furnished except for your bedroom. You’ll have shared use of the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Just down the hall from your bedroom upstairs is the laundry room, which has a full-sized front-load washer and dryer. The kitchen is spacious and you’ll have your own shelf in the pantry, fridge, and freezer. You are welcome to use our shared cookware, dishes, and utensils, or bring your own. The only off-limits spaces in the home are the other bedrooms and the downstairs office, where I work from home 3 weeks a month, so I would appreciate someone who is quiet during work hours.

Included monthly utilities are electricity, high-speed internet, biweekly housecleaning service, home security/alarm system, pest control, recycling/trash, and lawn care. We are on well water (with a whole house filtration system) with a septic tank, so no water bill to worry about, and only the fireplace is powered by gas, which is also included. The cleaners come every other week for the bathrooms and the entire downstairs, so all communal and shared areas are regularly cleaned. There is a designated area of the driveway for parking your car, though we are unable to accommodate more than one regular vehicle for you.

Requirements include a criminal background check, recent credit report, a refundable security deposit of $700, and either a) paystubs/proof of income, or b) bank statements with direct deposit shown. I also request previous landlord references, if applicable.

The last picture shows the approximate dimensions of the room, outlet location, and a potential layout, which suggests a full bed, nightstands, dresser, desk, and chair, but allows you to start planning your own layout. Of course we will give you the full tour so that you can see the house and bedroom in person and meet all of us before signing a lease.

You will be joining 3 adults, all in our early 30s–two females and one male. We also have two shy cats and two very friendly medium-sized dogs. We would prefer no additional animals at this time.

We are drug-free, but drink occasionally. No smoking is permitted.
