Our Apartment:

  • There are 4 bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 2 are in the basement. The bedroom is available on the basement floor. We have a back porch that is accessible off the hallway on the left before the master bedroom. The landlord and maintenance know that I am subleasing. I have been doing this for 8 years at this location. I am your point of contact with the maintenance worker; so if you have any issues/concerns, let me know, and I will contact them right away. I take care of cleaning the floors in the shared spaces (ie. kitchen, living room, basement, shared bathroom). I supply the apartment with toilet paper, dish soap, paper towels and trash bags at no extra charge. There are two short-haired cats in the apartment. One is mine and the other is my roommates. They are both very friendly. One is very scarce to new people but will easily warm up to you within a few days. You do not have any responsibility to take care of them. I take care of feeding the cats and cleaning litter boxes. They are not allowed outside and generally stay upstairs.

The bedroom & details:

  • The room is approximately 225 Sq. Ft. There are two small street windows and a small walk-in closet. In the winter, the apartment can get a little cold (and we try to not over-heat to keep the utilities cost for electric -the heat- as low as possible). It includes a Queen sized bed with bedframe and 3 drawer Ikea dresser. The mattress is in great condition and has been steam cleaned. We generally wear sweats in the apartment and have a carpet or two on the floor. Our second floor neighbor tends to be an early riser, so you may hear them early in the morning, but they do not usually stay up late or have any parties.

  • To move in, you will pay a security deposit, including utilities, and the first month’s rent. The security deposit is NOT last month’s rent. The total would be: $700 first month + $700 security deposit + $75 utilities = $1475 total.

Our Neighborhood:

  • Our neighborhood has been expanding since I have been here. I have been here a little over 10 years, and the neighborhood has consistently been growing with new developments. I am the first person to live at this location, so there have been no prior tenants living here. The housing around us has mainly been new housing for Penn and Drexel students. The public security guards for UPenn go all the way up to our block throughout the night. They will walk you home if you do not feel safe walking by yourself at night (my roommates and I have never felt unsafe, or the need to have them escort us - even when regularly walking home around midnight by ourselves).

We are looking for:

  • A person in their 20s or early 30s who is able to afford monthly rent and utilities. Someone that is respectful to other people and their belongings. A person who communicates their needs. Ideally we would also like someone who is clean, organized, and not a huge partier.

House Rules:

  • No firearms permitted in the building.
  • I will take care of recycling/trash in the kitchen area. If you have your own trash in your room, please dump it into the bins in the kitchen or take it out the the trash cans/recycling bins outside to the right of the apartment.
  • Being respectful to the cats is mandatory. I love animals and would not want them to be harmed in any way.
  • If you want to borrow/use food related items, please ask first, but we are happy to share.
  • Please let us know if you are having friends/family stay over. (We will always try to tell you if we have guests as well).
  • Clean up after yourself, especially in the kitchen, laundry, or living room areas. I understand if you do not wash dishes right away but I tend to clean dishes within that day, so I may end up washing them.

When Inquiring:

  • Please tell us a bit about yourself and why you’re interested in being our roommate!
  • What date are you looking to move in?
  • How long you plan on staying? I prefer a 12 month commitment but a 6 month is fine. It will give yourself, the roommates and I some time make sure we are all a good fit together.

About the roomies

Who are We:

  • I am a 33 year old male that works at a print/shipping shop close by. I work directly with UPenn/Drexel students and faculty. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music. I play mainly PC games in my free time. I am a very clean and organized person.
  • One male and female. One is my girlfriend that works at an upscale restaurant. The other was a co-worker of mine.
