About the room
2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment, part of a duplex house. Central heating and air conditioning. Hardwood floors. Kitchen is great for cooking with a gas range, oven, and granite countertops. Washer and dryer in unit. Unfurnished bedroom, mostly furnished kitchen and living area. The available room is about 144“ x 117“, with a roomy closet measuring about 117“ x 22“. House has a front porch as well as a front and back yard. Storage area in basement for bikes, gardening stuff, etc. Approximately 10 minute walk to downtown and 5 minute walk to several grocery stores. The street itself is usually very quiet. Rent is $650 plus half all utilities. Lease will be on a month-to-month basis, but ideally I’d like to find a roommate who wants to stay for at least six months. Landlord is friendly and responsive. Keeps the property in good condition. Good neighbors in the other half of duplex. Friendly and quiet.
About the roomies
About me: Female, age 36, science educator and graduate student. In my free time, I really enjoy hiking, yoga, photography, cooking, reading, or just watching a good movie or show. I would describe myself as a friendly introvert. I do enjoy socializing and the occasional party, but also need regular alone time to recharge. I try to make my apartment feel like a peaceful oasis away from the noise and stress of the world. I’m reasonably tidy and clean, but not spotless. I have a very friendly, fluffy senior cat. He’s become great buddies with my previous roommates. You’re welcome to love on him as much as you like, but I wouldn’t expect you to feed him or clean up after him. While I love animals, I’m not looking to add any more to the house right now. I don’t smoke or use illegal substances, but do enjoy the occasional drink socially. I’m seeking a roommate who is: Tidy and self-motivated when it comes to sharing household chores. Prefers to communicate in a candid, respectful, and kind way regarding any household issues. Doesn’t use tobacco, illegal substances, or drink heavily. Willing to undergo a background and credit check (I’ve done this myself).
